Description
Himari Azuma is a major character who serves as the vice-captain of the Seventh Unit of the Demon Defense Force. She is eighteen years old, stands 159 centimeters tall, and has an August 28 birthday. A young woman of striking appearance, she is recognized by her deep sea-green curly hair, often tied up, and her piercing yellow or amber-colored eyes.

Himari comes from the prestigious Azuma family, a lineage with a long history of achievements in the fight against the supernatural threat known as Shuuki. However, her background is a source of deep personal pain. As the youngest daughter of the main family, she was constantly compared to her highly talented older sisters and was unable to live up to the immense expectations placed upon her. Repeated failures at critical moments led her own family to label her a failure or a dropout. She was bullied by her cousin Homare, mocked daily by her older sister Yachiho, and lived in fear of her mother, Fubuki Azuma, who looked down on her and once threatened to kill her. This harsh upbringing left Himari desperate to prove her worth. To escape the psychological pressure of her family, she fled her home and eventually joined the Seventh Unit under the command of Kyouka Uzen.

Himari's personality is defined by a powerful combination of pride, a quick temper, and an unwavering determination to become stronger. She is deeply earnest and hardworking, constantly pushing herself to her limits to overcome her perceived inadequacies. Central to her character is her deep admiration and absolute loyalty to her captain, Kyouka Uzen, who recognized her value when her own family would not. Kyouka is her idol and the person she most wishes to emulate. In stark contrast, Himari is initially openly hostile and dismissive towards the male protagonist, Yuuki Wakura, solely because of his gender. She views his presence in the female-dominated organization as an annoyance and treats him harshly, though she grudgingly acknowledges his combat abilities.

Himari's primary motivation is to shatter the label of failure imposed by her family and to become a great hero like Kyouka Uzen. Her role within the Seventh Unit is that of the capable and dedicated vice-captain, who ensures responsibilities are handled and often reprimands others for disobeying orders. Her key relationships evolve significantly over the course of the story. Her bond with her captain, Kyouka, remains a pillar of her development, as she constantly seeks her approval and follows her example. Her relationship with Yuuki transforms from one of contempt to grudging respect and eventually to a deeper, more complex bond, especially after they fight together as master and slave. A pivotal moment occurs during an inter-unit exchange match against the Sixth Unit, where Himari uses her copied version of Kyouka's ability to make Yuuki her slave. Together, they defeat her abusive older sister Yachiho, forcing her sister to reevaluate her and significantly improving their dynamic.

This victory marks a turning point in Himari's development. Later, during the Azuma Banquet, a tournament to decide the head of the Azuma family, she faces her family's disdain directly. After hearing her mother insult Kyouka, Himari has a powerful awakening, unlocking her hidden potential and standing her ground against her mother, Fubuki. Her growth is a journey from an insecure, prideful young woman consumed by her family's rejection to a confident warrior who earns recognition on her own terms.

Himari's notable abilities stem from her unique Peach blessing, which is not the weapon transformation she is often seen using. Her true ability is called "Blue Sky Ambition" or Learning. This power allows her to copy and use the abilities of other people. She can register an individual's ability information on her smartphone and then activate it as her own. However, this copying has severe limitations. The quality of most copied abilities is heavily degraded, to the point of being almost useless. For example, using Shushu Suruga's size-altering "Paradigm Shift" only slightly increases her bust size. Furthermore, she can only use one copied ability at a time and must pay any required costs or sacrifices for an ability before she can switch to a different one.

To compensate for the degradation of other powers, her most frequently used offensive ability is "Bang Bang Bang" or Armed Beauty, which she copied from a member of the Fifth Unit. This ability allows her to transform parts of her body into various weapons, such as guns, swords, chainsaws, and cannons. Her most powerful technique with it is "Full Burst," where she turns her hair into multiple cannons to fire in all directions. Crucially, she has a high compatibility with Kyouka Uzen's ability, "Slave." When Himari uses this copied power on Yuuki, he transforms into a form called "Whirlwind," which grants him incredible speed, trading raw power for velocity. A more advanced, faster version of this is called "Whirlwind Heaven". As a drawback of using this copied Slave ability, Himari is forced to give Yuuki an embarrassing reward, typically a kiss or a similar intimate act, after their battle is over.
