Description
Koko Zenibako is a Humanoid Shuuki who resides in the Hidden Village within the world of Mato. She was originally a human girl who became trapped inside Mato and ate a Peach, causing her powers to run wild and transforming her into a Humanoid Shuuki. Prior to her transformation, she was petite with short hair and small eyebrows. After transforming, her hair turned white, her eyes became a distinctive gold, she grew a single horn on the left side of her head, and black marks appeared under her eyes. She retains a pale complexion and typically wears the same skintight outfit common among Humanoid Shuuki.
Koko possesses a vibrant and boisterous personality, often described as a downtown girl or an Edo-ite in manner. She is energetic, cheerful, and carefree, with a strong desire to help others. She is deeply loyal to her friends and allies, and she becomes fiercely protective when those she cares about are harmed. Her motivations primarily revolve around supporting her companion Aoba Wakura, whom she affectionately calls Aoba-nee, and contributing to the safety and well-being of her group.
Koko serves as a close companion to Aoba and often appears alongside Aoba and Naon, forming a trio where Koko acts as the younger sister figure. She plays a key role in Aoba's plan to retrieve her brother Yuuki Wakura from the Anti-Demon Corps, at one point disguising herself as an ordinary human to assist. During battles, she demonstrates strong combat abilities and a willingness to stand up for her friends, as seen when she confronts members of the Anti-Demon Corps and the Onmyou Bureau. She also has a special bond with a unique Shuuki she named Kumadouji.
Koko's transformation granted her physical abilities far beyond those of an average Anti-Demon Corps member. Her most notable ability is the manipulation of her own body fluids, a power she calls Koko Juice. This ability can be used for both offense and utility, including healing, as she demonstrated when she healed Yuuki Wakura. Her lively nature sometimes belies a seriousness when protecting her companions, and she has shown anger and irritation at those who have mistreated her fellow Humanoid Shuuki. Through her experiences alongside Aoba and Naon, Koko develops a deeper understanding of the conflicts between Shuuki, the Anti-Demon Corps, and the Onmyou Bureau. Her commitment to her friends only grows stronger as the story progresses.
