Description
Anetani is a Neanderthal harboring deep resentment toward modern humans for causing her species' extinction. She views humans as barbaric and egocentric, actively seeking their eradication. Before Darwin Academy, she lived in solitude until encountering Man, a mammoth sharing similar grievances. Together, they formed Team EX to drive humans to extinction by recruiting students affected by human actions.
Physically resembling modern humans, she has pale skin, blue eyes, and short red hair—an exaggerated trait compared to actual Neanderthals. Her biology demands large meat consumption to maintain strength; otherwise, she risks fainting. She possesses exceptional physical prowess, capable of knocking out opponents with a single strike and wielding stone spears proficiently for hunting and combat. She also creates and controls fire, a skill shared only by humans and chimpanzees.
Serious and reserved, she rarely expresses emotion. She advances her goals through deception and manipulation. At Seton Academy, she posed as a human transfer student to infiltrate the Cooking Club and observe members Jin Mazama and Hitomi Hino. After incapacitating canine students threatening Jin and Ranka, she joined the club under false pretenses. Critiquing the club's food for insufficient quantity, she subtly hinted at her carnivorous needs. Later, she attempted to sabotage Jin and Ranka's relationship by convincing Ranka of inherent human cruelty, but Ranka confronted Jin directly, foiling the plan.
During her visit, she accepted Hitomi's invitation to bathe in hot springs and stay overnight. Hitomi's genuine kindness confused her, prompting her to question such easy friendship. Despite this, she maintained her mission, luring Ranka into the forest to further manipulate her against Jin. After Jin and Ranka reconciled, she declined joining their pack and returned to Darwin Academy. There, she reported to Team EX that a path to human extinction might still exist, reaffirming her commitment.
Her interactions occasionally reveal minor insecurities, like jealousy toward Hitomi's appearance, but these do not detract from her primary objective.
