Description
Bazz-B, designated as Sternritter H, The Heat, is a prominent Quincy from the Wandenreich who plays a significant role in the conflict of the final arc. His original name is Bazzard Black, and he hails from a noble Quincy family that lived over a thousand years ago in a territory known as the Lichtreich. His striking appearance is defined by a bright red mohawk, which he takes great pride in, as well as piercings and a customized white Sternritter uniform. His past is intrinsically linked to his childhood friendship with Jugram Haschwalth, the stern and loyal Grandmaster of the Sternritter.

In his early years, Bazz-B was a confident, even arrogant, prodigy. He first encountered Haschwalth in a forest where he mocked the other boy’s inability to hunt but then gave him his own kill, immediately declaring the weaker child his subordinate and vowing to train him to become the strongest Quincy. This seemingly domineering attitude was rooted in a genuine, if rough, sense of camaraderie. His life changed forever when the Quincy Emperor Yhwach conquered his territory, burning down his family castle and killing his mother. At the same time, the fire destroyed Haschwalth’s home and killed his abusive uncle. This shared tragedy forged a new, powerful motivation between the two survivors: revenge against Yhwach.

For five years, Bazz-B and Haschwalth lived as outcasts, training relentlessly to gain the strength needed to kill the emperor. Their plan was to infiltrate Yhwach’s inner circle as royal guards and assassinate him. However, their path diverged when they attempted to join Yhwach’s army. The emperor immediately recognized Haschwalth as his other half, a unique Quincy with the power to distribute and amplify the abilities of others. It was revealed that Bazz-B’s own rapid growth had been subconsciously fueled by Haschwalth’s latent talent. This revelation shattered Bazz-B’s pride, as he had always viewed himself as the gifted one protecting a weakling. When he furiously attacked Yhwach, it was Haschwalth who blocked the blow and was taken away to become the emperor’s right-hand man. Despite this, Bazz-B eventually joined the Sternritter on his own merits, but his goal shifted from killing Yhwach to repeatedly challenging Haschwalth to a duel to prove his own strength, a challenge that was consistently refused due to the laws against infighting among the Quincy.

Bazz-B’s personality is harsh, hot-headed, and brutally aggressive. He is quick to voice his dissent and acts on impulse, famously mocking his allies or attacking them to steal their battles, justifying it with a personal creed that the last to arrive has the right to the prey. During the first invasion of the Soul Society, he demonstrated his brutality by effortlessly slaughtering seated officers and grievously wounding Lieutenant Izuru Kira. Despite his loyalty to the Wandenreich’s cause, his allegiance is conditional. He was openly enraged when Yhwach named Uryu Ishida as his successor, believing the position should have gone to Haschwalth, and he confronted the emperor directly over the decision.

His role in the story shifts dramatically during the events of The Conflict. After Yhwach uses a selective Auswählen to strip power from the "impure" Quincies to empower his elite Schutzstaffel, Bazz-B is among those discarded. This act of betrayal reignites his original hatred for Yhwach. Surviving the ordeal, he abandons any pretense of loyalty and marches into Wahrwelt, the emperor’s palace, with the singular goal of killing Yhwach. This leads to the final confrontation with his childhood friend. In a flashback-heavy battle, Bazz-B unleashes his full power against Haschwalth, not necessarily expecting to win, but to force a response from the stoic Grandmaster. Though he fights fiercely, he is ultimately defeated and killed by Haschwalth. In his final moments, however, he smiles, finding a grim satisfaction in finally having forced his friend to acknowledge him and fight with genuine intent. The duel serves as a tragic culmination of their lifelong, complicated bond.

Bazz-B’s primary ability is his Schrift, The Heat, which allows him to generate and manipulate immensely powerful flames by condensing atmospheric Reishi. He is able to withstand and even counter the flames of Captain-Commander Yamamoto’s Shikai to a degree. His signature techniques are the Burner Finger series, where he channels fire through his fingers to create different effects. Using one finger unleashes a concentrated, piercing beam. Two fingers produces an explosive slash. Three fingers generates enough heat to melt stone into lava. With four fingers, he can create a massive blade of fire for slashing attacks. His ultimate technique, Blazing Hell, uses all five fingers of his left hand to fire a powerful, conical vortex of flames. He also possesses standard Quincy abilities such as Hirenkyaku for high-speed movement, Blut for defense, and the ability to manifest a crossbow-like Heilig Bogen. His power is directly tied to his emotional state and his lifelong rivalry with Haschwalth, making him a fierce and unpredictable combatant.
