TV-Series
Description
Fitoria is the revered Queen of the Filolials, a legendary being who has existed for countless centuries. She is also secretly the wielder of the Vassal Carriage, making her one of the hidden Seven Star Heroes, though most of the world remains unaware of this fact. Her existence is intrinsically tied to the fate of the world, as she was raised by a previous generation's Legendary Hero who entrusted her with a critical mission upon his death.
Her personality is a study in contrasts. On one hand, Fitoria is serious, authoritative, and graceful, carrying herself with the composure expected of a queen who has protected the world for centuries. She is deeply committed to her duty and is often disappointed by the selfish squabbles of mortals, which has led her to largely avoid interacting with the general populace. On the other hand, she sometimes displays typical Filolial traits such as animal-like forgetfulness and a gluttonous appetite, which prompted Naofumi to see her as a child pretending to be an adult. She also harbors an instinctual hatred for dragons, a common trait among her kind.
Fitoria's core motivation is the protection of the world from the Waves of Catastrophe, a duty passed down to her by her late master. Her master emphasized cooperation among all of the world's inhabitants, including humans, demi-humans, and monsters, to stop the Waves. However, having witnessed countless generations of heroes fall to infighting, her primary concern is not the heroes themselves but the balance necessary to save the world. She is so committed to this goal that she is willing to take extreme measures, including killing the current Legendary Heroes if they prove to be uncooperative and are fighting among themselves, so that a new, more functional set can be summoned in their place.
In the story, Fitoria serves as a powerful and enigmatic figure who tests and guides the main party, primarily Naofumi and his Filolial, Filo. Her first significant interaction with Naofumi occurs after she and her army of Filolials intervene in his battle against the Tyrant Dragon Rex, an ancient beast she effortlessly defeats. She subsequently transports him and his party to a hidden sanctuary once protected by the original Legendary Heroes to discuss matters. Her role becomes that of a judge, evaluating whether the current generation of heroes, particularly Naofumi, is capable of setting aside their differences to fight the Waves. She is particularly interested in Filo, a Filolial Queen candidate raised by a Legendary Hero, and tests her abilities to see if she is worthy of succession. In the fourth season, she continues to play a pivotal role, sending Melty and Filo to deliver an unexplained mission to Naofumi and granting them significantly improved stats, demonstrating her active involvement in the heroes' journey.
Her key relationships are defined by her ancient duty. Her most important bond is with her deceased master, whose dying wish set her on her centuries-long path. With Naofumi, her relationship is complex; she is a potential ally who offers tremendous power and knowledge, but also a potential threat who will not hesitate to eliminate him if he fails to unite the other heroes. She is also directly linked to his party member, Filo, as the ruler of all Filolials and a mentor figure who recognizes Filo's potential as her successor. She has a softer spot for Melty, whom she once saved from a dragon and now affectionately calls Mel-tan due to the girl's genuine love for Filolials.
While Fitoria's origin and mission are well-established, her character development is subtle, as she is an ancient being whose personality has been solidified over centuries. Her primary evolution within the story is a gradual shift from observing Naofumi as a potential failure to be eliminated to cautiously investing in his success. After deeming Filo capable, she puts the disposal of the current heroes on hold and extracts a promise from Naofumi to reconcile with the other heroes and support one another, indicating a willingness to give this generation a chance. Information on her specific development arc within the fourth season is not available, as the season is newly released.
Fitoria possesses a vast and formidable array of abilities befitting an ancient hero. Her most notable power is her transformation. She can shift between a human form, where she appears as a young girl with silver hair streaked with light blue and red eyes, wearing a red and white gothic lolita dress. In her true Filolial form, she is a titanic, majestic bird, estimated to be around 100 times larger than a normal Filolial, with pure white feathers, yellow-tipped crowns, and blue feathers around her neck. She can also disguise herself as a normal, ostrich-like Filolial. As the wielder of the Vassal Carriage, she has access to unique abilities, including teleportation to saved locations and a powerful charge attack called Crash! Charge!. She is a master of magic, capable of creating high-level forcefields to contain enemies, using a speed-enhancing spell called Haikuikku to deliver devastating melee attacks, and casting wind-based spells like Liberation Wind Prison to create a cage of swirling blades. Her ancient knowledge allows her to understand the true nature of the Waves and Legendary Weapons, and she can even suppress or aid the functionality of other heroes' weapons. She can also bestow a special class-up that provides better growth potential than a regular one.
