Description
Eleonore Bianca is a significant figure who initially appears as a third-year student at the Hero Academy, later becoming an exchange student at the Demon King Academy. Her long black hair and kind, approachable demeanor are her most noticeable features, often described as having a motherly quality. Behind this gentle exterior, however, lies a tragic origin; Eleonore is not a natural-born human but a sentient, humanoid magical spell created through forbidden means two thousand years before the main story.
Her existence is the result of a powerful spell known as the Source Womb, or Eleonore, crafted from a part of the source of Jerga, a human military leader who harbored an intense hatred for demons. The gods themselves played a role in her creation, with the goal of using her unique ability to produce mutated sources that could potentially contain divine powers. While Jerga's hatred manifested separately as the magic spell Asc, Eleonore was inadvertently born from his suppressed desire for peace, which is why she holds no innate hostility toward demons, a stark contrast to the other members of the Hero Academy’s elite class.
For centuries, successive generations of heroes attempted to rewrite Eleonore’s memories and personality to instill in her a hatred for the demon race, but all these efforts failed. After three hundred years, she was deemed a failure and relegated to the role of a magical tool, forced to continuously generate emotionless source clones, such as the many Zeshia units, destined only for battle and death. This fate brought her immense psychological suffering. Her outwardly friendly and cheerful personality is, in part, a facade that masks profound guilt and despair over being forced to bring countless beings into existence only to see them destroyed.
Her primary motivation for much of the story is to end this cycle of violence and suffering. She views the mass production of clones as an unforgivable act and believes the only way to free her children from their fate is to have her own source completely destroyed, preventing any more clones from being created. She awaits the arrival of someone powerful enough to grant her this wish. This leads her to plead with Anos Voldigoad, asking him to destroy her. However, Anos points out that her wish was solely for the happiness of her creations and did not include her own. Her perspective shifts dramatically when a unique Zeshia clone, capable of crude speech, appears and asks Anos to save their mother instead. This moment allows Eleonore to acknowledge her own desire for happiness and to ask for help for both herself and all her children.
Eleonore's role in the story evolves from a tragic figure trapped in a cycle of despair to a crucial ally of Anos. After a climactic battle with Jerga, Anos uses the Magic Sword of Destruction to take ownership of her, effectively transforming her into his own magic. This act severs all external control over her abilities and frees her from the compulsion to endlessly produce clones. Following the resolution of the conflict between the demon and human nations, she enrolls in the Demon King Academy as an exchange student, accompanied by the special Zeshia clone who now bears her surname. In this new life, she embraces a nurturing, maternal role, openly caring for Zeshia and the other surviving clones.
Her key relationships are defined by this maternal bond, especially with Zeshia, whom she is fiercely protective of and loves dearly. Her relationship with Anos is one of profound gratitude and loyalty; he is the one who saved her and her children from eternal servitude, granting them the opportunity to seek their own happiness. This bond also leads to comedic moments, such as when Anos’s family humorously misinterprets her presence as that of a potential bride.
Eleonore possesses vast magical power, comparable to beings from the Mythical Age, with a natural specialization in source magic. Her most notable ability, Source Creation, allows her to mass-produce source clones, demonstrated when she simultaneously generates ten thousand Zeshia units. She can also create pseudo-sources to fuel powerful spells like Aske, which she uses to create phantom clones that supply her with magic energy, or to shield against attacks that target the source directly. Furthermore, her Perceptive Magic Eyes, a result of her mastery over source magic, allow her to see through illusions and disguises by directly observing a person's source, an ability considered rare even in the mythical age. Ultimately, Eleonore Bianca is a character whose journey transforms her from a manufactured tool of war into a liberated individual who finds purpose and peace in protecting her family.
