Description
The Goddess of Creation Militia is a pivotal figure from the Mythical Age in the world of The Misfit of Demon King Academy II. As the original goddess responsible for the creation of the world, she holds the fundamental order of creation itself. Militia is a deeply unique deity, standing apart from nearly all other gods because she possesses genuine emotions and a caring heart. While most gods in this universe are purely conceptual beings who exist solely to maintain their designated order without feeling or desire, Militia worries about the world and its inhabitants, acting with a kindness that often goes against the expectations of her divine station.
In the past, two thousand years before the main events of the story, Militia played a crucial role in the great war that defined the era. She joined forces with the Demon King of Tyranny Anos Voldigoad, the hero Kanon, and the Great Spirit Leno to create a massive magical barrier that split the world, thereby ending the devastating conflict. This act demonstrated her willingness to work alongside demons and humans to achieve a greater good. Her motivations are consistently driven by a desire for a gentler, more sustainable order. Unlike gods who seek only stagnation or the perpetuation of a harsh cycle, Militia envisioned a kinder future. She poured her power into creating the Magic Order Ennesone to soften the world's rigid laws, a feat that strained her immensely and left her weakened. She later entrusted this order to her friend, the birth god Wenzel.
Militia is defined by her tragic and fateful relationships. Her sister is the goddess of destruction, Abelniyu, and the two exist as two sides of a single coin, their powers intrinsically linked. When the power of destruction was lost from her sister, Militia's own lifespan was drastically shortened as the balance between their orders crumbled. To restore this equilibrium, Militia entered a pact with the Order God Erurorarirom to seal themselves along with the concept of destruction. However, she was betrayed by the Goddess of Selection, Arcana, with whom she had made a contract in the world below the surface. Influenced by the demon Graham, Arcana's betrayal led directly to Militia's downfall and death. Before her end, Militia took a portion of Anos Voldigoad's memories and sealed them away as part of a long-term plan for a better future. Her body transformed into the structure known as Everlast Anzetta Academy, and her very source reincarnated into the modern era as the demon girl Misha Necron, forging an incredibly deep and vital link between the goddess and one of the main characters.
The development of Militia’s story arc is one of sacrifice and legacy. Her life was a struggle against the cold, impersonal nature of divine order, trying to inject compassion into the fabric of reality. Her death was not an end but a transformation, as her source lived on in Misha, while her sealed body became a crucial location in the present timeline. Her actions in the past, including her interactions with Anos when he sought to destroy the Moon of Creation, set the stage for the conflicts of the second season. During those encounters in the Mythical Age, Anos sought to understand her, a god unlike any he had met, and she revealed her loneliness, noting her inability to even meet her own sister due to their opposing orders.
In terms of abilities, Militia possesses powers befitting the highest order of god. She holds the authority known as Creation’s Moon, or Artieltonoa, which allows her to create anything simply by wishing for it, freezing her surroundings and bringing new things into existence. Her Divine Eyes of Genesis, or Divine Eyes of Source Creation, are perhaps her most notable ability; these eyes allow her to perceive everything occurring in the entire world and to create not just physical matter, but also magic sources, concepts, and even life itself from nothing. As a god, she is a conceptual existence with immense magical power, though such power can be exhausted by acts of extraordinary magnitude, such as creating a new world order. She can also use the Lunar Eclipse of Genesis, a power that a God of Creation can only use twice in their lifetime: once at the beginning to create the world, and once at the end to create the next God of Creation.
