Description
Lay Glanzudlii is a transfer student at the Demon King Academy and a member of the Generation of Chaos, known by the title “The Demon Sword Saint” or “Saint of Magic Sword Forging.” He is a young demon with shoulder-length white hair and pale blue eyes, typically dressed in black clothing. Lay was only five years old when his family expected him to die, but he was taken in and raised by Sheila Glanzudlii, a half‑spirit, half‑demon woman who became his adoptive mother.

Lay has no innate talent for magic, but his swordsmanship is exceptional. He is a prodigy capable of wielding any sword, including holy swords that normally cannot be touched by demons. This skill earns him recognition as a swordsman of the highest order. His fighting style relies on masterful technique, enhanced physical abilities, and exceptional combat strategy rather than magical power.

In terms of personality, Lay is calm, approachable, and treats everyone without prejudice regardless of their bloodline or social status. He is cheerful and easy‑going on the surface, but this hides a complex history and a strong sense of duty. Lay is deeply loyal to those he cares about and is motivated by a desire to protect the peace forged by his past and present relationships.

He is the reincarnation of the legendary Hero Kanon, who fought Anos Voldigoad two thousand years ago. In that previous life, Lay assumed the identity of the false Demon King Avos Dilhevia, a role he accepted to draw away humanity’s hatred and allow peace to flourish. This past gives him a unique connection to Anos; the two share a bond of mutual respect and friendship that transcends their former conflict. Lay is also romantically involved with Misa Ilioroagu, and he forms close ties with Anos’s other allies, such as Sasha Necron and Misha Necron.

Throughout the events of the story, Lay’s development focuses on reconciling his dual identities as a demon and as the hero Kanon. He carries multiple magical sources within his body, remnants of the hero’s ability to resurrect repeatedly. His arc involves struggling to preserve the peace Anos established, even when that means bearing the burden of being seen as an enemy. Ultimately, Lay becomes an indispensable ally to Anos, fighting alongside him to uncover the true history of their world and to protect those he loves.
