Description
Benkiman is an ancient Chojin, a superhuman being, who originates from the Benkíyá Tribe of Peru, a race with a highly advanced toilet culture dating back to the Inca Empire. His physical design is a direct and literal representation of a squat toilet, giving him a unique and unmistakable appearance within the world of Kinnikuman. He is approximately two thousand years old, having been alive since the time of the Spanish conquest.

The character's backstory is steeped in tragedy. Around the year 1533, during the Spanish conquest of the Inca Empire, Benkiman witnessed the murder of his parents by soldiers led by Francisco Pizarro. He was beaten so severely that he suffered total amnesia, forgetting his true identity and heritage. Without his memories, he took on a new persona and became a local wrestler known as Heladoman, a name derived from the Spanish word for ice cream, which his headpiece resembled. Living as Heladoman, he competed in the Peruvian preliminary matches for the 21st Chojin Olympics, where he defeated a corrupt but popular fighter named Giganteman. It was only on his grandfather's deathbed that Heladoman was told the truth about his past and his lineage, leading him to reclaim his original name and identity as Benkiman.

Despite his fearsome and often misunderstood exterior, Benkiman possesses a deeply selfless and honorable personality. He has a reputation as a merciless and brutal fighter in the ring, but this contrasts sharply with his true nature. He holds a strong moral code, demonstrating zero tolerance for child abuse, as seen when he was enraged by an opponent mistreating a young boy. He is also remarkably kind and accommodating, famously willing to let others use his toilet-like body for its intended purpose when they are in need. This unique blend of a grotesque design and a noble heart makes him a memorable figure among the Justice Chojin.

His role in the narrative of the Perfect Origin Arc is brief but significant. At the beginning of the arc, he is present at a Chojin Fan Appreciation Day event when the Perfect Chojin, a powerful faction from space, invade the stadium. Seeing his fellow Justice Chojin being overwhelmed, Benkiman, alongside Curry Cook, jumps into action to defend the innocent spectators. They are immediately confronted by the immensely powerful Strong the Budo, who effortlessly defeats them both. As a result of this defeat, Benkiman is stripped of his Chojin powers and forcibly transformed into a regular human, effectively removing him from the active conflict for a time. He later returns to his Chojin form, but his primary role in the arc is to demonstrate the overwhelming threat posed by the new antagonists, establishing the high stakes of the story. In later arcs of the manga, he participates in battles against other powerful foes, such as the Six Spears of Omega Centauri, where his determination is empowered by the bonds of friendship.

Benkiman has key relationships with several characters. He maintains a formal and friendly relationship with Copper Bellman, whom he respects as a senior figure. More importantly, he becomes a mentor to a younger Chojin named Wash Ass, to whom he passes on his techniques and spirit. It is confirmed that Benkiman dies sometime before the events of the sequel series Kinnikuman Nisei, but his legacy lives on through his student.

His fighting style, much like his body, centers on his unique anatomy. His signature and most notable ability is the Benki Flush. This technique allows him to suck an opponent into his toilet body and flush them away, seemingly to a place from which no one can return. The only known counter to this move was performed by Kinnikuman, who managed to clog the system by stuffing his shorts into the toilet, causing it to back up and forcing his escape. Benkiman also relies on various submission holds, which made him less popular with crowds who preferred more aggressive, brutal fighters. The design of the character varies slightly between media; in the original manga, he is depicted with a coil of feces on top of his head, whereas the anime adaptations typically change this to a water faucet or spigot.
