Description
Max Radial is a Perfect Chojin and a member of the Perfect Large Numbers, the elite combat unit serving under the command of Strong the Budo. He is a large, imposing figure whose presence exudes intimidation even among his fellow Perfect Chojin. His background is largely unknown, but at some point he traveled to Mount Saint Parfait, where he impressed Mirageman and was transformed into a Perfect Chojin, joining the ranks of the Perfect Large Numbers.
In terms of personality, Max Radial is stoic, disciplined, and utterly loyal to Strong the Budo and the Perfect Chojin cause. He views all Chojin from other factions—the Justice Chojin and Devil Chojin—as inferior beings who have corrupted the purity of the Chojin race. This belief drives his cold, condescending attitude toward his opponents and his willingness to use brutal tactics to prove the superiority of the Perfect Chojin philosophy.
Max Radial's primary motivation is to uphold the ideals of perfection and to serve his master's mission of purging what he sees as weak or corrupt elements from the Chojin world. He enters the conflict as one of the first Perfect Large Numbers to engage the Justice Chojin, acting as a vanguard in the invasion that follows the breakdown of the peace treaty between the three factions.
His role in the Perfect Origin Arc is that of an early antagonist. He is the first opponent faced by the veteran Justice Chojin Terryman, who volunteers to represent his faction in a one-on-one match. The fight becomes a grueling test of endurance and will, with Max Radial's overwhelming power and ruthless techniques putting Terryman at a severe disadvantage.
Key relationships include his unquestioning loyalty to Strong the Budo, the leader of the Perfect Large Numbers. He also fights alongside other Perfect Large Numbers such as Nemesis and Turbomen, though he is primarily defined by his subservience to the larger hierarchical structure of the Perfect Chojin. His adversarial relationship with Terryman is the central conflict of his appearance, as Terryman's refusal to give up challenges Max Radial's belief in the inherent weakness of the Justice Chojin.
In terms of development, Max Radial does not undergo significant personal change during the arc. He remains a steadfast enforcer of the Perfect Chojin code until his defeat. His defeat at the hands of Terryman serves to demonstrate that the Justice Chojin's spirit and tactical skill can overcome the rigid perfection of the Perfect Chojin, but Max Radial himself does not deviate from his beliefs.
Max Radial's notable abilities are tied to his title as the Perfect Shredder. He wields a signature attack called the Perfect Shredder, in which he presses his opponent against the giant tires mounted on his shoulders and spins at high speed, tearing apart their skin. He also possesses a special ability known as Zero Tragedy, which nullifies the Chojin Power of any opponent he grapples with; those who cannot withstand it are transformed into mere humans, losing their superhuman strength. Additionally, he holds the title of Perfect Warrior, implying a mastery of all martial arts, and his legs are equipped with suspension that allows him to deliver stable, high-powered tackles with explosive bursts of speed.
