TV-Series
Description
Gil Algren is the fourth and youngest son of the Algren Ducal House, a noble family that governs the eastern part of the kingdom, which includes the hometown of the protagonist, Allen. As a junior at the Royal Academy, he is the underclassman of both Allen and Lydia Leinster, whom he greatly admires and looks up to. On the surface, Gil typically presents the demeanor of a large, friendly, and gentle young man, often compared to a big dog due to his laid-back and approachable nature. However, this unassuming exterior belies his true capabilities; he is an exceptionally talented individual who has earned the reputation as the "Second Coming of the First Duke Algren".

In his role within the story, Gil acts as a valuable ally. His family owns a hot springs inn, where he accompanies Allen, providing them with a place to stay. During one such visit, Gil demonstrates his resourcefulness by gathering crucial information from guests about a monster that had stolen a spellstone, noting the presence of feathers left behind, which helps set the stage for the main group's next endeavor. His key relationships are defined by his deep respect for his seniors at the academy, Allen and Lydia, and he is shown to be a reliable figure who can be called upon for assistance. While specific details of his personal development across the series are less documented, his established abilities show he is far more capable and reliable than his easygoing personality might initially suggest.
