Description
Hahari Hanazono is the mother of Hakari Hanazono and becomes the sixth girlfriend of Rentarou Aijou. Her background is marked by a profound tragedy during her middle school years, when she fell in love with a terminally ill classmate. Determined to leave proof of his existence, she used her vast resources to arrange for an artificial insemination procedure, giving birth to her daughter, Hakari, at the age of thirteen. The boy passed away before the two could even share a kiss. This loss left Hahari deeply scarred, leading her to believe she could never be happy again and instilling in her a fierce, almost overwhelming desire to protect her daughter from experiencing the same heartbreak.

In terms of personality, Hahari initially presents herself as a mature, sophisticated, and pragmatic woman, deliberately suppressing her emotions to maintain control. However, this facade quickly crumbles when confronted with anything she deems cute, particularly children, Rentarou, and the other girlfriends. This love for all things adorable often overrides her common sense, causing her to drool or suffer a nosebleed from sheer overwhelming affection. She shares a perverted and flirtatious nature with her daughter, though her desires are often rooted in a maternal instinct to play a nurturing role. As an incredibly wealthy heiress and the chairwoman of the Hanazono Group, Hahari has little sense of financial scale and will comically use her fortune for impulsive ends, such as buying an entire school or bribing top medical officials.

Hahari's primary motivation stems from her traumatic past. She is driven by the need to shield Hakari from the pain of losing a loved one, which initially makes her violently opposed to Rentarou, whom she sees as a playboy who will ultimately hurt her daughter. Her role in the story begins as the main antagonist during the Hakari Rescue arc, where she imprisons her daughter and threatens Rentarou to keep them apart. This changes when she meets Rentarou face to face; upon locking eyes with him, she experiences the "soulmate shock," revealing she is his sixth fated soulmate. Even after this revelation, she resists her feelings until Rentarou risks his life to save Hakari, finally convincing Hahari of his genuine love and earning her blessing. She then joins the Rentarou family as a girlfriend, and to stay close to him, she buys the high school he attends and instates herself as the chairwoman.

Her key relationships are complex and multifaceted. With Rentarou, she transitions from a hostile adversary to a devoted lover who cherishes him deeply, while he helps her overcome the guilt she feels for loving again. With her daughter Hakari, Hahari is overprotective and doting to an extreme, though she is also willing to be the "bad guy" to enforce her will. A significant subplot involves the ghost of Hakari's father, Hahari's deceased first love, who appears in the Hanazono mansion and eventually thanks Rentarou for bringing happiness to his family, allowing him to pass on peacefully. Hahari also has a close relationship with her loyal maid, Meido Mei, whom she sees as more than a subordinate and considers part of her family to the point of wanting to adopt her.

Throughout her development, Hahari moves from a place of emotional suppression and loneliness to one of open, overwhelming affection. A pivotal moment occurs when Rentarou assures her that it is acceptable to love more than one person, freeing her from the guilt of moving on while still honoring her first love. She evolves into one of the most eccentric and unrestrained members of the family, with her maternal instincts extending to all the younger girlfriends.

Hahari also possesses several notable abilities. Her most prominent asset is her immense wealth, which functions as a deus ex machina to solve problems or create comedic scenarios. She enjoys cosplay and has a large collection of costumes, often dressing up the other girlfriends for fashion shows. Physically, she is said to possess an I-cup bust, and despite a lack of athletic skill, she can tap into incredible "motherly firefighting strength" when her instincts kick in, making her formidable in physical gags like baseball games. She is 29 years old and her birthday is May 12.
