Description
L'Osservatore is a mysterious, otherworldly being in the anime To Your Eternity. It is the creator of the white orb that eventually becomes Fushi, the immortal protagonist. L'Osservatore originally resided in a void and is of unknown origins. Its primary motivation is to observe and guide Fushi, tasking it with preserving and protecting the world from the Nokkers, parasitic entities that threaten existence. The being appears remote and detached, but its actions reveal a deep investment in the world and in Fushi's growth. Throughout the story, L'Osservatore interacts with Fushi at crucial moments, offering cryptic guidance and sometimes manifesting as a silent observer. It later takes on a human form named Satoru, revealing that it created the world out of boredom and longs to eventually perish within it. This development shows a more personal and conflicted side, as it entrusts Fushi with the role of eternal guardian before erasing its own memories. L'Osservatore possesses immense power, including the ability to create life, manipulate reality, and communicate across dimensions. Its key relationship is with Fushi, whom it treats as a successor and experiment. The being's role is fundamentally cosmic: it is the architect of the world's cycle and the source of Fushi's mission, and its eventual abdication marks a turning point in the narrative.
