TV-Series
Description
Bonchien Nicoli La Tasty Peach Uralis is the former prince of the Uralis Kingdom, a young man with a striking and memorable appearance defined by a distinctive pompadour hairstyle, a thin mustache, and unique markings on his cheeks that resemble eyelashes. As royalty, he typically wore ornate armor, a doublet, trunk hose, a flowing cape, and a ruffled jabot, projecting an image of regal flamboyance. In his childhood or when traveling incognito, his appearance was much plainer, with short hair and no facial hair, and after being resurrected in the modern era, he adopted a simpler gray overcoat and pants.
Born as the first prince, Bonchien was raised with the expectation that he would one day succeed his father as king. However, his father deemed him unfit to rule due to his immature and eccentric personality, instead naming his younger brother Torta as the heir to the throne. This rejection became a driving force in his life, fueling a deep desire to prove his worth to his family and his kingdom. He decided that the best way to achieve this was to capture the legendary immortal being known as Fushi, a quest that consumed nearly a year of his life.
From a very young age, Bonchien possessed a rare and extraordinary ability: he could see and communicate with the spirits of the dead. The ghosts that lingered in the royal palace were his first teachers and playmates, educating him and shaping his unique worldview. Those around him, unable to perceive what he could see, often labeled him as strange or eccentric, and he was even subjected to an exorcism ritual in an attempt to rid him of his powers. This ability is highly acute; he can not only see ghosts like Tonari but also the spirits of March and Oniguma that follow Fushi, even when Fushi has transformed into a different person's form. Furthermore, he is one of the few characters who can see and directly converse with the mysterious Beholder, whom he nicknames Mister Black. This power makes him uniquely qualified to locate Fushi, as he can track him by the entourage of spirits that always accompany the immortal.
Bonchien's personality is a complex blend of flamboyant eccentricity, childish immaturity, and genuine cunning. He is prone to dramatic mood swings, bold declarations, and emotional tantrums when things do not go his way, which initially makes him appear as a selfish and privileged prince. However, beneath this theatrical exterior lies a sharp and self-aware mind. He proves to be quite clever, successfully capturing Fushi and the Guardian Corps on multiple occasions and using his royal authority to stave off the threats of the Church of Bennett. Despite his flaws, he genuinely cares for the people of Uralis and loves his family deeply, showing particular affection for his younger sister, Pocoa.
His primary motivation is to earn recognition and prove that he is worthy of respect, having been denied the throne. Initially, this manifests as a desire to capture Fushi, seeing the immortal as a trophy to validate his capabilities. However, as he spends time with Fushi, his motivations shift from personal glory to a sincere desire to help. He becomes fiercely loyal to Fushi, willing to risk everything to protect him and his cause. After being captured by the Church of Bennett and charged with heresy for his ability to communicate with spirits, he was sentenced to execution. Fushi helped him fake his death using a body double, after which he assumed the secret identity of Baron Harumaki or Baron Springroll to continue his work from the shadows.
In the great battle against the Nokkers in the city of Renril, Bonchien made the ultimate sacrifice. When Fushi was incapacitated and reverted to his original, inert orb form after losing everything, Bonchien took his own life with a sword. This desperate act allowed Fushi to be reborn, using Bonchien's body as a new vessel. By inheriting Bonchien's form, Fushi also gained his powerful spirit medium abilities, which allowed him to see souls and, for the first time, learn how to truly resurrect the dead and restore memories stolen by the Nokkers. This sacrifice represents the pinnacle of his character development, transforming from a self-centered prince seeking validation into a selfless hero whose death fundamentally altered Fushi's capabilities and the course of the war.
Centuries later, Bonchien was resurrected by Fushi in the modern era alongside other former companions. He joined the Immortal Army to continue the fight against the Nokkers and helped establish the Uralis Castle Tasty Peach Foundation, an organization dedicated to long-term stability and humanitarian efforts. His legacy is profound, as his unique spiritual gift not only defined his own life and relationships but also became a crucial power for Fushi, enabling the immortal to save countless others.
