Description
Gram is a human hero from the world of Alneath, known historically as the one who defeated the Demon Lord Veltol Velvet Velsvalt five hundred years before the main events of the story. After this legendary victory, he was granted the blessing of eternal youth by the goddess Meldia, a gift he did not request and which ultimately became a source of immense personal suffering. Despite his heroic status, Gram did not find a peaceful existence. In the centuries following Veltol’s defeat, he was forced to participate in the endless wars that broke out among humans. Over time, the people he had saved grew fearful of his power and immortality, eventually turning on him and attempting to kill him. This series of betrayals and the constant cycle of violence led him to become deeply disillusioned with humanity.

In terms of appearance, Gram has short blonde hair and sapphire blue eyes. His most iconic possession is the sacred sword Ixasorde, which was given to him by the goddess Meldia. However, by the time the story begins five centuries later, his appearance reflects his long-faded spirit. He no longer appears as a shining paragon of knighthood; instead, he lives as a homeless drifter in the slums of Shinjuku, carrying an air of dejection and weariness.

Gram’s personality is defined by the tragic events of his past. Before his rise to heroism, he was a noble person who braved danger to find medicine for his sickly sister, but the murder of his entire family by demon forces instilled in him a great hatred for the Demon Lord. Despite the immense suffering he endured after his victory, including the corruption and betrayal of the humans he saved, he never allowed hatred or malice to rule his heart. He is described as a person of strong principles. In the present day, he presents an apathetic and unmotivated exterior, his sense of purpose having been ground down by centuries of disappointment.

The key relationship in Gram’s life is with his former enemy, Veltol. Their rivalry is the central event of his early life, but their dynamic evolves dramatically upon Veltol’s resurrection. Initially, Gram is reluctant to help the weakened demon lord, as his old hatred still lingers. However, upon seeing that Veltol has changed and observing his sincerity in trying to stop a former subordinate’s evil plan, Gram is moved to fight once more as a hero. He agrees to help Veltol rescue his companion, Machina Soleige, which marks the beginning of an unlikely alliance. Another significant relationship is with the goddess Meldia, who blessed him with immortality out of love, an act Gram never asked for and which he eventually came to resent as a curse.

In the story, Gram serves as a foil to the demon lord, representing the fallen ideal of heroism. His role becomes crucial when Veltol, unable to rescue Machina alone, seeks him out. The mission to save her serves as a catalyst for Gram’s personal development. As he engages in battle, his sacred sword Ixasorde, which had rusted from disuse, begins to shine again, symbolizing the reawakening of his heroic will and hope. He confronts the secretary of the traitor Marcus in a fierce battle, rediscovering his own strength and determination.

Gram possesses abilities that are legendary even among immortals. Aside from his immortality, which has kept him alive and youthful for over five centuries, he is recognized as a peerless warrior and the strongest player in the world, having proven his might by defeating the demon lord. Even after years of apathy, his combat potential remains fearsome. He is also noted for having developed a unique form of original magic that can instantly analyze dungeons, a skill he created during his adventuring days to clear them quickly. This ability proves invaluable during the rescue mission for Machina.
