Description
Ami Tsuruga is a seventeen-year-old high school student and one of the main heroines of her story. She is the youngest member of the main cast and has worked as a part-time employee at the Familia café for about a year before the protagonist’s return to the seaside town. Her birthday is January 20th, and she stands 167 centimeters tall, making her the tallest among the female leads despite her age. She has a mature figure with measurements of B88, W59, H92, and her long dark blue or black hair is almost always tied up in a signature ponytail. Ami has an energetic, cheerful, and highly playful personality. She is a natural prankster who loves to tease her coworkers, often acts on impulse, and has difficulty reading the atmosphere of a room. Her antics frequently get her scolded, and she is known for her unusual method of apologizing for her mischief: she nonchalantly offers to let the wronged party touch her chest. Despite her chaotic tendencies, she is deeply sincere and loyal, treating her coworkers like family. Having lost her parents in a car accident, she views the café and its people as her surrogate home, which she fiercely protects. Ami is a dedicated member of her school’s karate club, where her physical prowess and powerful kicks are most apparent. She loves subculture including manga, anime, tokusatsu superhero shows, and especially video games like Street Fighter, which she plays with expert-level skill—she once defeated the protagonist forty-nine times in a row using the character Blanka. A recurring gag involves her clumsily dropping heavy dumbbells, leading to destruction such as breaking a laptop. She enjoys wearing funny costumes or masks to pull pranks. Ami shares a close bond with the protagonist, Hayato Kasukabe, whom she nicknames Hayacchi; she teases him relentlessly but also trusts him deeply, feeling comfortable even sharing a bath with him. She appreciates the cooking of fellow waitress Shiragiku Ono and shows respect to the older heroines by using the honorific san. While she does not undergo a dramatic personality shift, she grows more responsible over time, and a story arc reveals a vulnerable side as she deals with her grandmother’s illness. Her love of fighting games sometimes bleeds into reality as she attempts to mimic moves like the Shoryuken and Tatsumaki Senpukyaku during karate.
