Description
Anya Fromel is a waitress at the Hostess of Fertility, the popular tavern in the labyrinth city of Orario. She is a member of the Cat People race, a fact made immediately apparent by her brown cat ears and matching tail, which complement her brown hair and eyes. Despite her petite stature, standing at 150 centimeters, she is a former adventurer with considerable combat experience.
Anya’s personality is deceptively simple. On the surface, she presents herself as a cheerful airhead whose unthoughtful actions often lead to comical mishaps, such as mixing up drink orders or singing so poorly that her voice is referred to as a disaster. Her coworkers often see her as a fool, yet beneath this bubbly exterior lies a fierce loyalty to those she considers friends. She is known to become openly hostile toward anyone who threatens or brings up the painful past of her colleagues, such as when she confronted the god Hermes for mentioning Ryuu Lion’s tragic history. This protective instinct shows a more serious and resolute side to her character, as she refuses to give up on her friends even when her attempts to help are clumsy.
Her background is rooted in deep tragedy and complicated family bonds. Anya lost her parents and her home when she was only one year old, forcing her older brother, Allen Fromel, to protect her while they wandered the ruins of their kingdom for two years. They were eventually taken in by the goddess Freya and became members of her Familia. During her time in the Freya Familia, Anya endured harsh training and reached Level 4. However, at some point before the adventurer Ais Wallenstein came to Orario, the relationship with her brother fractured. Allen forcibly expelled her from the Familia, pretending to hate her and treating her abusively in what was later implied to be a misguided attempt to protect her. This rejection left Anya deeply scarred. She refers to herself as an abandoned cat and refuses to acknowledge her brother’s alias, Vana Alfi, claiming not to know who that is. After her expulsion, she was rescued by Syr Flover and brought to work at the Hostess of Fertility under the proprietress Mia Grand, herself a former member of the Freya Familia. This is where she found a new, if imperfect, family among the tavern's staff.
