Description
Cassandra Illion is an eighteen-year-old human adventurer who first appears as a member of the Apollo Familia before joining the Miach Familia following Apollo's defeat in a War Game against the Hestia Familia. She has long, dark blue hair and light green eyes with a characteristic drooping shape that gives her a perpetually timid and anxious expression. Standing 160 centimeters tall, she is noted to have a curvy figure, though she herself is often self-critical about her appearance, particularly her hair which she describes as damp and gloomy.

Possessing a deeply shy and pessimistic personality, Cassandra is prone to self-doubt and frequently appears nervous or clueless in social situations. She tends to defer to her close friend Daphne Lauros, who often takes care of her and makes decisions on her behalf. Despite this submissive tendency, she can display surprising stubbornness, such as when she insisted on retrieving a lost pillow against Daphne's objections or demanded trips to Riviera for special dishes, revealing a childlike and innocent side beneath her anxious exterior.

Cassandra's defining characteristic is her unique magical ability to receive prophetic dreams, which manifest as cryptic 17-line poems accompanied by vague images. This power originates from a skill that even gods cannot fully understand or read, with her patron deity Miach only able to guess at its name. However, this ability comes with a curse-like effect often referred to as a "咒力" or charm: no one who hears her prophecies is capable of believing them, regardless of how close they are to her or how gentle their personality might be. Consequently, Cassandra was dismissed as having delusional tendencies within the Apollo Familia and her warnings were consistently ignored.

Only one individual has proven immune to this curse: Bell Cranel, who possesses a development ability called Luck that allows him to objectively evaluate and believe her prophecies. When Bell became the first person to genuinely trust her visions, it profoundly moved her, and she came to regard him as a salvific and special presence in her life. This experience also sparked romantic feelings toward him, as she was deeply grateful for the way he broke the curse that had isolated her for so long.

In battle, Cassandra serves as a rear-guard healer who supports the front lines with recovery magic. Her primary healing spell is Soul Light, an area-of-effect spell that generates a zone of restorative light centered on herself, with its effective radius expanding based on her mental strength. She also possesses Cure Ephialtes, a rare dispelling magic that can neutralize poisons and curses, though she initially misunderstood it as being only for poison removal. These abilities earned her the alias The Pessimist, a name that reflects both her gloomy disposition and her tragic prophetic gift.

During the joint expedition with the Hestia Familia alliance, Cassandra dreamed a devastating vision of the party being annihilated. Determined to prevent this future, she overcame her habitual passivity and took decisive action, requesting that Welf Crozzo hastily craft a protective Goliath Scarf. This improvised item proved instrumental in saving Bell's life during a subsequent battle against the terrifying monster known as the Juggernaut. After the party defeated the floor boss Amphisbaena, she successfully interpreted another prophetic dream to guide her companions away from a collapsing crystal formation that would have crushed them all. Following the expedition, her level increased from Level 2 to Level 3, and she gained the development ability Treatment, which enhances her healing capabilities.

Cassandra wields a Sacred Crystal Rod, an expensive magic staff she purchased herself after finding the weapon gifted by Apollo to be incomprehensibly difficult to use. She also crafted a Rabbit Charm from the fur of a monster, which she carries as a protective talisman inspired by one of her prophetic dreams. Beyond her healing duties, she has some proficiency with a short bow, having received a sheltered, high-class education before being reluctantly recruited into the Apollo Familia, who valued her prophetic abilities. Her relationships are central to her character, particularly the sisterly bond she shares with the more assertive Daphne, as well as her developing connections with Bell, Haruhime Sanjouno, and even certain Xenos children that she learns to accept over time.
