Description
Lamprecht is the second son of Karstedt and Elvira, making him the older brother of Eckhart and Cornelius and the adoptive brother of Rozemyne. He is an arch knight of Ehrenfest and serves as a retainer and guard knight for Wilfried, the archduke’s eldest son. His personality is patient and easygoing, and he is genuinely dedicated to his duties, though his inexperience sometimes leads him to be less strict than the situation requires. He holds a strong sense of loyalty and affection for Wilfried, a commitment that is tested when Wilfried’s position as heir is stripped. During that crisis, Lamprecht is approached with an offer to resign but, after receiving advice from his brother Eckhart, decides to remain loyal to his charge.
Lamprecht’s role in the story is primarily as a supporting figure within the archducal household and the temple. He accompanies Wilfried during lessons, events, and interactions with Rozemyne and Ferdinand. His motivations center on fulfilling his responsibilities as a retainer and protecting Wilfried’s interests, even when that puts him at odds with the stricter expectations set by Ferdinand. He is often caught between wanting to shield Wilfried from harsh criticism and the realization that Wilfried needs to improve. Ferdinand frequently calls out Lamprecht for being too lenient and for not pushing Wilfried to work harder.
Key relationships include his family—his parents Karstedt and Elvira, his brothers Eckhart and Cornelius, and his adoptive sister Rozemyne—as well as his wife Aurelia and their son Siegrecht. With Rozemyne, he maintains a cordial but somewhat distant relationship; he is comfortable with her as long as she does not create disruptions, though he sometimes resents the extra attention she receives. His interactions with Ferdinand are marked by a mixture of respect and fear, as Ferdinand’s intimidating presence can reduce Lamprecht to silence or submission. With Wilfried, Lamprecht shows consistent loyalty but also struggles to enforce discipline, often deferring to Wilfried’s preferences rather than imposing structure.
In terms of development, Lamprecht’s arc highlights his growth as a retainer. After a period of uncertainty following Wilfried’s loss of heir status, he chooses to stay by Wilfried’s side, reaffirming his dedication. This decision demonstrates a maturation of his sense of duty and personal loyalty. He also learns to accept Ferdinand’s harsh but effective methods, though he remains more gentle in his own approach. Notable abilities include his skills as an arch knight, which involve combat training and the use of mana for magic and protection. He is competent in battle but is not depicted as an exceptional prodigy; his value lies more in his steady reliability and genuine care for those he serves.
