TV-Series
Description
Naka Hikage is a fifteen year old girl who appears as a supporting character in the series. She comes from a family with a long history as a ninja clan, a background that has shaped much of her life. Her mother passed away when she was young, and since then she has trained in martial arts under the guidance of her older brother, Tatsu Hikage. Despite her training and natural athletic talents, Naka is a shy and reserved person who dislikes drawing attention to herself. She often feels self conscious about her physical strength and small stature, and she secretly wishes she could live as an ordinary, unremarkable girl. This desire leads her to deliberately suppress her extraordinary abilities in front of others, especially at school, where she is a classmate of Hitoyoshi Yokoya and Yuki. She admires Yuki and considers her a friend. Her motivation stems from a wish to be recognized for who she is rather than for her family legacy or her unusual skills, yet she also struggles with the pressure of living up to the expectations tied to her ninja heritage. One notable aspect of her character is a family curse that, under stress or exhaustion, slowly causes her to transform into a rabbit. In terms of role within the story, Naka functions as a peer who provides a relatable, everyday perspective and develops a friendship with the main characters. Her notable abilities include advanced martial arts proficiency and ninja techniques, though she goes out of her way to hide these talents. Over the course of the series, she begins to navigate her conflicting feelings about her identity, gradually becoming more comfortable with the idea that she can be both strong and ordinary in her own way.
