Description
Panda is a second-year student at Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu High and a semi-grade 2 jujutsu sorcerer who appears as a major supporting character in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: The Culling Game Part 1. Despite his name and appearance, he is not a real panda. He is an Abrupt-Mutation Cursed Corpse, a self-aware construct created by Masamichi Yaga, the former principal of Tokyo Jujutsu High, as his ultimate achievement. Unlike ordinary cursed corpses, which need an external sorcerer to continuously supply them with energy, Panda is fully sentient, generates his own cursed energy, and possesses a genuine personality, emotions, and sense of identity.
His background is tied directly to Yaga, who built him by placing three compatible souls into a single body so that they could observe and stabilize one another, eventually producing their own cursed energy. This process resulted in three distinct cores, each linked to a different soul and a different combat form. The main Panda core is his default and most balanced state, offering solid strength, speed, and endurance while conserving cursed energy. The second core, which Panda calls his older brother, transforms him into a muscular gorilla form with greatly increased power and speed, though it drains his cursed energy quickly. In this form he can use Unblockable Drumming Beat, an attack that sends damaging shockwaves through an opponent's body even if the strike itself is guarded. The third core belongs to his sister and grants a bipedal triceratops form associated with defensive capability, but its full abilities remain largely unrevealed. As long as at least one core remains intact, Panda can survive and eventually recover the others, while the destruction of all three would kill him.
