Description
Hadis Teos Rave is the young emperor of the Rave Empire, a powerful domain blessed by the dragon god Rave. Widely known as the Dragon Emperor, he is recognized as the living reincarnation of the dragon god Rave, a status that grants him overwhelming magical power but also places a tremendous burden on his body. He has black hair and striking golden eyes. At the start of the main story, he is nineteen years old.

Hadis possesses a complex and multifaceted personality that contrasts sharply with his fearsome reputation. Externally, he often projects the image of a distant and authoritative ruler, but he is also surprisingly pure-hearted and extremely awkward when it comes to romance. His upbringing was isolating, and he gained most of his knowledge from books rather than social interaction, which sometimes makes his thinking seem peculiar or eccentric to others. Beneath his composed exterior lies a fragile heart, and he has a dark, vulnerable side that makes him prone to melancholy and emotional instability. Despite the immense power he wields, his romantic inexperience is so profound that even the dragon god Rave teases him about it.

The emperor’s motivations are deeply rooted in his tragic circumstances. He grew up isolated and feared as the "cursed emperor" due to the mysterious and destructive nature of his power as the dragon god's vessel. In the original timeline, this loneliness and the weight of his destiny caused him to succumb to darkness, transforming him into a cruel tyrant who destroyed Jill Cervel’s homeland. In the second timeline, where the story primarily takes place, his core motivation shifts toward avoiding that fate. He is a man constantly struggling against his own dark tendencies, and his primary desire is to find happiness and redemption, largely through his relationship with Jill.

Hadis serves as one of the two central protagonists, with his personal redemption arc being the story’s driving force alongside Jill’s actions. His role is to be the powerful but broken emperor whom Jill is determined to save from his dark destiny. He is the object of her mission to "reform" him, which becomes a mission to make him happy and prevent his descent into evil. The plot hinges on his internal battle between light and darkness, with Jill acting as the crucial element that keeps him from falling.

His most significant relationship is with his wife, Jill Cervel. She is nine years his junior, and their marriage, which occurs under serious political and magical circumstances, is initially the subject of court gossip due to her young age. Despite this, their bond is deep and sincere. Jill is the only person who can consistently pull him back from the edge of darkness, and he, in turn, adores her. Their domestic life is characterized by frequent arguments, which Hadis often tries to resolve by using his exceptional cooking skills to win her over. The dragon god Rave, who resides within or alongside Hadis, is another key presence, watching over him with a mix of amusement and indignation. Hadis’s family history is one of betrayal and mistreatment, as he was made a scapegoat for deaths due to his cursed powers, leaving him unable to fully trust even his siblings, Elentzia and Risteard.

Throughout the narrative, Hadis undergoes significant development. The story contrasts his potential futures: the first life where he became a brutal emperor and the second life where Jill’s intervention offers a chance for redemption. While he still struggles with recurring darkness, each time Jill prevents his fall, allowing him to gradually build a different life based on trust and affection. His development is not about becoming less powerful, but about learning to accept support and fight for a peaceful future rather than succumbing to his despair.

Hadis possesses several notable abilities, though his power is a double-edged sword. He wields immense magical power befitting the Dragon Emperor, strong enough to subdue and command dragons and surpass Jill in combat. As the reincarnation of the dragon god, he is the legitimate wielder of the empire's sacred celestial sword. However, this overwhelming magic constantly damages his body, leading to fragile health, physical weakness, and frequent fainting spells. Paradoxically, he is also incredibly skilled in domestic arts; he is an excellent cook and proficient at sewing, talents developed from a dark and sad past but which he uses to express love and care for his wife.
