Description
Mikoto Yuzuki is the second son of the Yuzuki family, a thirteen-year-old middle school student. He is slender and tall for his age, with pale skin, short black hair, and blue eyes. Known for his cool and collected demeanor, Mikoto rarely shows much expression and speaks in a calm, indifferent tone, a trait that has earned him the nickname Shakya among his peers. He is highly intelligent, a top student admired by many at school, and carries himself with a responsible, mature air that belies his young age.
After the sudden death of his parents two years prior, Mikoto stepped into a key supporting role within the household. While his eldest brother, Hayato, acts as the primary provider and father figure, Mikoto assists with chores and helps manage the two younger brothers, Minato and Gakuto. He is deeply devoted to his family, though his loyalty is most pronounced toward his younger brother Minato, who is only eleven months younger and in the same grade. Mikoto dotes on Minato to the point of obsession, often hiding his own vulnerabilities behind a stoic mask while secretly showering his brother with affection and protection. This intense attachment stems from a childhood shift: Mikoto initially disliked the attention Minato received as a premature baby, but over time he grew to adore him.
Mikoto looks up to Hayato as the pillar of the family and tries to relieve some of the burden on his eldest brother by acting as a reliable second-in-command. He is highly dependable, often taking charge of household tasks and keeping an eye on the younger boys. Despite his composed exterior, he struggles with his own need for emotional support and occasionally suppresses his feelings. His character arc focuses on learning to allow Minato more independence and recognizing that he, too, can lean on others, especially Hayato, when he needs comfort.
Key relationships include his close bond with Minato, which is characterized by a mix of possessiveness and genuine care; his respectful admiration for Hayato, who serves as his role model; and his protective but warm interactions with the youngest brother, Gakuto. He also shares a mutual, somewhat tense understanding with the next-door neighbor Uta Kirishima, as both are fiercely devoted to Minato’s well-being. Mikoto’s notable abilities lie in his sharp intellect, academic excellence, and his practical competence in running a household, making him an indispensable anchor in the Yuzuki family’s daily life.
