Description
Takuhiko Hayaseura founded and directs the Kura organization, operating an independent police unit built upon his Mizuhanome System—technology developed with associate Nishio Shirakoma to investigate serial killers via their unconscious minds. His background involves extensive psychological manipulation through telepathic young girl Kiki Asukai, whose involuntary dream projections he exploited. Hayaseura repeatedly invaded Asukai’s mind to murder her in dream states without consequence, later inviting others to participate. This nurtured dark impulses in participants, transforming them into serial killers like "the Challenger," "Face-lifter," "Tongue-tearer," "Arm-twister," "Thigh-severer," and "Gravedigger," though Tamotsu Fukuda ("Perforator") resisted harming Asukai.
Hayaseura secretly manipulated police officer Akihito Narihisago, dubbing him "the Cornerer," intending to use him to eliminate the killers Hayaseura created. Months after Asukai survived the Challenger’s attack (and Narihisago killed the Challenger in 2016), Hayaseura and Shirakoma kidnapped Asukai from the hospital. They integrated her as the core power source of the Mizuhanome System, enabling Kura’s operations. Approximately six months before main events, Hayaseura murdered Shirakoma and concealed his body.
Operating under the alias John Walker, Hayaseura manifests as a distorted figure in killers’ id wells, adorned in a red frock coat, gold top hat, brown boots, and black bow tie. This persona actively fuels murderous desires without direct involvement. Within id wells, he also embodies the arrogant detective Uraido, retaining full self-awareness. His actions as John Walker directly or indirectly created at least five serial killers responsible for 44 murders, reflecting his god complex and lack of remorse.
When exposed as John Walker, Hayaseura framed Funetaro Momoki for his crimes and activated Asukai’s powers to drag everyone in the Kura building into an id well, intending to kill them all. During the ensuing confrontation, he shot Narihisago—who survived. Hayaseura’s consciousness became permanently trapped within his own id well dogma, sealed by Narihisago’s actions.
