Walter von Hauff is a German actor and voice actor, born on May 10, 1949, in Munich. He originally studied theater studies at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich before training at the Neue Münchner Schauspielschule. His early career was focused on stage performance, with engagements at theaters in Lübeck, Linz, Bern, Salzburg, Wunsiedel, and Wiesbaden. In 1986, he became a co-founder of the Theater viel Lärm um nichts in Munich.

Since the mid-1980s, von Hauff has built an extensive career as a dubbing actor, providing the German voices for numerous international film and television personalities. He is well-known as the German voice of Michael Moore in films like Bowling for Columbine and Fahrenheit 9/11, as well as the voice of Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story film series. He is also the German narrator for the series Mythbusters.

Within the realm of anime and animation, von Hauff has a significant body of work. He is a regular voice in the German dubbing of the long-running series One Piece, where he voices multiple characters including Admiral Fujitora, Iceberg, and Captain Black. In the film One Piece Film Red, he reprises the role of Fujitora. He also voices Flordelis in Pokémon: Mega Evolution Special I and Professor Oak in Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!.

His other notable anime roles include Jean-Jacques Serrault in Forest of Piano, Ivis Necron in The Misfit of Demon King Academy, and Takuhiko Hayaseura in ID: INVADED. He is the voice of Seiji in New Fist of the North Star and plays Captain Herlock in Space Pirate Captain Herlock The Endless Odyssey. In the Ghibli film Tales from Earthsea, he voices König, and he plays Yoshio Onodera in From Up On Poppy Hill. His credits also include Juzo Hasegawa in Cyber City Oedo 808, Kain in In The Beginning - The Bible Stories, Basil "Buzz" Nikwest in Parasite Dolls, Heinz in Magnetic Rose, Tamotsu Yanagisawa in RIN - Daughters of Mnemosyne, Huang Long in Twilight of the Dark Master, and Isshin Shijima in Napping Princess.

Many of von Hauff's dubbing projects are produced in Munich, where he frequently works with other voice actors from the region. His deep and versatile voice has made him a sought-after talent for a wide range of characters, from authoritative figures to comedic roles, establishing him as a prominent figure in the German dubbing industry for several decades.
