Description
Kain, firstborn son of Adam and Eve after their expulsion from Eden, tilled the earth as a farmer while his younger brother Abel tended flocks as a shepherd. Conflict ignited when both presented offerings to God: Abel's choice livestock found favor, but Kain's produce did not. This divine rejection ignited fierce jealousy within Kain. Though God warned him to master the sin crouching at his door, Kain confronted Abel in the field and slew him in a rage. For this act of fratricide, God pronounced a curse upon Kain. Marked for life, he was condemned to a restless, nomadic existence, forever barred from settling or farming the land, embodying divine punishment. His story ends with this exile, a foundational tale of envy and consequence.
