Description
Drayton is a student attending Blueberry Academy and a prominent character introduced in the animated series Pokémon Horizons: The Series. He hails from a prestigious family and is the grandson of Drayden, the Gym Leader of Opelucid City in the Unova region. Through his family connections, he is acquainted with Hassel, a member of the Paldea region’s Elite Four. Drayton holds a high rank within the academy's competitive structure, serving as a member of the BB League Elite Four, and he was previously the League Club’s Champion before being dethroned.

Drayton has a friendly and laid-back demeanor, which often masks his true capabilities as a trainer. His personality is marked by a strategic laziness; he actively tries to avoid strenuous tasks or any form of heavy work, such as training others. This trait is evident when he tricks a fellow student, Roy, into completing his own Blueberry Academy quests under the pretense of receiving special training, a move that greatly annoys another student, Lacey. Despite his lackadaisical attitude, Drayton is highly perceptive and a genuinely skilled battler. He recognizes potential in young trainers and, after initial reluctance, agrees to help train members of the Rising Volt Tacklers because he views them as capable of becoming great.

Within the story's events at Blueberry Academy, Drayton serves as a mentor and a rival figure. He observes the training of Roy, a young trainer, and takes a particular interest in him upon learning that Roy has trained with Hassel. Drayton engages Roy in a double battle, where he wins decisively using weather-based tactics. He offers Roy advice to relax and avoid being so tense in battle. He also helps another student, Ult, solve a quiz, showcasing his intelligence despite his lazy exterior. Drayton's key relationship is with Roy, as their rematch becomes a significant turning point. In this second battle, Roy uses improved strategies to counter Drayton's weather tactics, leading to a close match where Roy's Crocalor evolves into Skeledirge. Drayton uses Terastallization, the phenomenon that changes a Pokémon's type, during this battle, but is ultimately defeated. After the loss, he playfully denies that his actions were intended as training before leaving, maintaining his casual persona.

Drayton exhibits notable abilities as a Dragon-type Pokémon specialist. His battle strategy prominently features the use of weather conditions, which he manipulates to gain the upper hand against his opponents. His known Pokémon include Archaludon and Kingdra, which he uses effectively in double battle formations. Drayton also demonstrates the ability to use the Terastal phenomenon, further showcasing his high-level battling skill. His physical appearance is distinctive, featuring white hair with a purple highlight and yellow eyes. He typically wears a black jacket with yellow accents, a baggy League Club uniform shirt, and a purple dragon-themed cloak worn as a skirt.
