En Daidōji, also known as Fire En, is the main protagonist of the anime series Brave Command Dagwon. He is a sixteen-year-old high school student who becomes the leader and captain of the Dagwon squad, a group of young heroes chosen to defend Earth from alien criminals. Physically, En has short, brown-black hair and brown eyes, stands at 171 centimeters tall, and was born on July 24.
En is defined by a hot-headed and determined personality. He acts with courage and a strong sense of justice, often rushing headfirst into danger to protect others. This fiery and impulsive nature frequently leads to clashes with his teammate Kai Hirose, who is not only his comrade but also his academic superior at school. Despite their disagreements, this rivalry is born from mutual respect and a shared goal, pushing both to become better fighters. His primary motivation is the protection of Earth and his loved ones from the invading forces of Space Prison Sargasso. En, along with four other students, was chosen by an alien officer known as Brave Seijin to receive a Dag-Commander, a device that allows him to transform. He does not take this responsibility lightly, striving to balance his duties as a hero with his life as a regular teenager, which includes navigating his romantic feelings for a classmate named Maria Tobe. This relationship is a significant part of his character, as he fights not just for the world, but for the safety of the people he personally cares for.
In the story, En serves as the central figure and primary frontline fighter among the Dagwon. He is the first to merge with a vehicle to become a giant robot and often takes the lead in battle. His arsenal as Fire En includes fiery attacks such as Fire Knuckle, Shoulder Burn (disk-shaped energy blasts from his shoulders), and the ability to wield the Lio Sword.
For greater threats, En merges with his personal vehicle, the Fire Stratos, which is a police patrol car, to form the humanoid robot Dag-Fire. This is a Fusion Combine where his will controls the robot as if it were his own body. He is unique on the team for having two different vehicular bodies that can merge into one. Through further Blazing Combinations with support vehicles like the Fire Jumbo, Fire Ladder, and Fire Rescue, he forms the even larger and more powerful robot Fire Dagwon. He later gains access to other powerful combinations, such as Power Dagwon and the ultimate final form, Super Fire Dagwon, a power that comes with great risk and immense energy consumption but is necessary to defeat the series' most formidable enemies.
