Description
Laura, also known as Cure La Mer, is a central character from the anime film Eiga Precure All Stars F. She originates from the series Tropical-Rouge Precure, where she is introduced as a mermaid from the underwater kingdom of Grand Ocean. At the start of the film, Laura is a thirteen-year-old who aspires to become the next queen of Grand Ocean. Her full name is Laura Apollodoros Hyginus La Mer, and when disguising herself among humans she goes by Laura La Mer.

Laura's personality is marked by strong self-confidence and a direct, honest manner. She is not afraid to speak her mind and can come across as selfish or prideful, yet she is deeply loyal to her friends and protective of those she cares about. Her primary motivation upon entering the human world is to find the legendary warriors known as the Pretty Cure and to gain the ability to become human herself. Over time, her wish to become human grows stronger, and she eventually achieves this by transforming into Cure La Mer, gaining legs and the ability to attend school with her friends.

In Eiga Precure All Stars F, Laura is one of the seventeen main Pretty Cure characters who are scattered across a mysterious fragmented world. She is assigned to Team Prism, a group led by Cure Prism (Mashiro Nijigaoka) and also including Cure Finale (Amane Kasai) and Cure Grace (Nodoka Hanadera). Laura's role in the story is to help her team navigate the strange environment, assist in protecting a small rabbit‑like creature named Puka, and contribute to the overall mission of reaching the castle that holds the key to returning to their original world. Her assertive nature often drives the group forward when they face obstacles, and she works to encourage Puka to be strong. She also takes part in the final confrontation against the antagonist Cure Supreme, joining forces with all the reunited Pretty Cure to restore Earth.

Laura's key relationships in the film include her close teamwork with Mashiro, whose gentle approach balances Laura's directness, and her interactions with Nodoka and Amane. She also shares a bond with the fairy Kururun, though Kururun does not appear in this movie. Throughout the story, Laura demonstrates no dramatic personal change beyond what she already experienced in her own series; her confident and straightforward personality remains consistent, but her loyalty and willingness to protect her friends are highlighted in the crossover setting.

As Cure La Mer, Laura's transformation is associated with a sky‑blue theme color, and her charm point is her nails. In battle, she uses aquatic‑themed attacks, including abilities like Marine Beat Dynamic and Super Tropical Paradise, which harness the power of water. She also possesses the Mermaid Aqua Pot, a tool that can recover Motivation Power from the series’ antagonists. As a mermaid, she is an excellent swimmer and can breathe underwater, though she loses these abilities in her human form. Her singing voice is noted as beautiful, a trait she occasionally uses in her adventures. In Eiga Precure All Stars F, she contributes her combat skills and strategic suggestions to help her team overcome monsters and reach their goal.
