Description
Mashiro Nijigaoka, also known as Cure Prism, is a fourteen-year-old second-year student at Sorashido Academy who lives in Sorashido City with her grandmother while her parents work overseas. She is a gentle and kind girl with a calm demeanor, though she can sometimes be flustered by the eccentric behavior of those around her, and she tends to overthink situations or take things more seriously than her friends. Her hobbies include baking and drawing, and she is knowledgeable about cooking and nature, but she struggles to find a single passion she wants to pursue in the future. As a child she was quite shy, but by the start of her story she has gained confidence largely through her friendship with Ageha Hijiri.
As Cure Prism, she transforms into the Pretty Cure of light, whose theme color is white. In her transformed state, her pink hair becomes a lighter shade and flows outwards, and she wears a dress with a layered skirt, long white gloves, and white boots with pink accents. Her abilities revolve around creating and manipulating balls of light, which she can use as projectiles to attack enemies or as platforms to support allies. Her solo finishing technique is Prism Shot, in which she forms a giant ball of light and fires it at the enemy to purify it. She is also able to perform the combination attack Updraft Shining with Cure Sky, and the team attack Majestic Halation alongside her full team. Later, she gains an additional technique called Prism Shine, which produces a golden ball of light that purifies corrupted energy from within a target’s heart.
In Eiga Precure All Stars F, Mashiro is separated from her close friend Sora Harewataru (Cure Sky) at the beginning of the film and wakes up in a mysterious fragmented world. She becomes the leader of Team Prism, a group that includes Cure Finale, Cure La Mer, and Cure Grace. The team encounters a small, timid, rabbit-like creature named Puca, who is fleeing from various threats. Mashiro’s compassionate nature leads her to protect Puca, and much of her role in the story involves caring for Puca and unraveling the creature’s connection to the creator of the strange world. Her core motivation throughout the film is to reunite with Sora and her other friends, and she approaches challenges with a nurturing, level-headed resolve. Key relationships include her bond with Sora, which is tested by their separation and reaffirmed when they finally reunite, and her growing trust with Puca, whom she helps to understand love and friendship. Mashiro’s development in the film centers on deepening her understanding of what it means to be a Precure and discovering her own strength as a steady, supportive presence in the face of a seemingly hopeless situation. Her notable abilities as Cure Prism are used both defensively and offensively as her team navigates the fragmented world and ultimately confronts the antagonist.
