Kuwanagō originated as a Mitsurugi forged for and worshipped by a farming village, embodying the Yamato Nadeshiko archetype through diligent service and occasional air-headedness. She witnessed major conflicts like the Battle of Sekigahara and Siege of Osaka, leaving her acutely aware of warfare's chaos and her own fate. Fearing battlefield unpredictability, she retreated to Mikawa province as a shrine maiden, living peacefully yet haunted by anxiety over destiny.

Her Transcend form emerged after confronting her weakness—fear of her extreme fate and passive acceptance. Overcoming this, she gained resolve to fight alongside her master. This evolution granted a substantial spiritual power increase, housed in a new sacred vessel designed for purity and divinity, reflecting her shrine maiden roots.

Distinct traits include an affinity for scops owls and aversion to o-mikuji. In Transcend form, her combat features water-attribute normal attacks and a unique resilience mechanic: pressing attack after taking damage recovers part of it. Her signature move, "Fortune O-mikuji," alternates between ally attack boosts and water-attribute assaults. Her ougi, "流華絶水域," unleashes a massive hemispherical water zone to repel enemies.

Her journey transitions from fatalism to determined action, solidifying her role as a purpose-driven guardian.
