Description
Tōshi Masamune, also known as Musashi Masamune, is a Mitsurugi maiden embodying an ancient Masamune-forged tachi historically linked to the swordsman Miyamoto Musashi. This connection originates from the sword's purported use by Musashi during the Tokugawa shogunate's rise, though its name derives from Musashi Province. The blade was later donated to the NBTHK in 2000.
Incarnated as a warrior maiden, she uniquely wields two swords—reverting one into a scroll outside combat. Her fighting style prioritizes precision and counterattacks. She executes *Mikiri Flash* to parry and swiftly counterstrike opponents, while her ultimate technique, *Shinten Gorin*, harnesses the "essence of Gorin" (Five Rings philosophy) through a chained assault. Her "Switch Attack" ability, unlocked via Blooming Ability panels, repels enemies when swapping positions mid-battle.
Statistically, she is a "Balanced" type with Water affinity and the Virtue of Wisdom. At level 80, her attributes include Attack (525), Health (423), Defense (144), Luck (53), Move Speed (77), and Sword Skill (72). Her Leader Skill, *Sword Technique Mastery - Revised*, marginally enhances allied Mitsurugi sword techniques.
Her "Extreme" Blooming Ability demands significant resources to unlock four enhancement panels. Upgrades progressively improve her leader effect, ultimate technique, signature move, and base stats (Attack/Health/Defense). Final-tier enhancements expand normal attack range, accelerate attack speed, raise damage caps, and amplify signature move effectiveness.
Personality-wise, she displays a carefree exterior but remains fundamentally stoic and earnest. She excels in martial and fine arts—particularly ink wash painting—and despises defeat, employing any strategy to win. Unconsciously, she struggles to rely on others. She refers to herself as "Uchi" and addresses her master as "Aruji".
Her background notes service to an "unrivaled master swordsman", overcoming grueling training and duels to master sword essence. After wartime, she and fellow Mitsurugi vowed peaceful lives but returned to combat 300 years post-Battle of Sekigahara in an alternate Meiji Era to confront the threat Magatsuki.
In-game acquisition occurred via the event "-剣に生きる巫剣達-" or Regular Gacha, debuting on September 1, 2017. Her preferred gifts include entertainment novels, ukiyo-e, poetry, foreign books, and ink paintings—the latter also serving as her favored expedition item.
