Description
Haruka Igusa is a first-year student at Gehenna Academy and the youngest member of the problem-solving group known as Handyman 68, often referred to as Problem Solver 68. Standing 157 centimeters tall and fifteen years old, she has long, unkempt purple hair held back by clips, matching purple eyes, and a halo consisting of three sharp, thorn-like violet needles arranged in a triangle. Her uniform consists of a violet admiral coat worn over a red outfit, a black pleated skirt, and lace-up boots, accessorized with a cross emblem and a belt featuring a creepy rabbit doll keychain.

Haruka's defining characteristic is her profoundly low self-esteem and gloomy disposition, which stem from a childhood marked by relentless bullying. Her dark and quiet nature made her a target for her peers, leaving her with crippling social anxiety and a tendency toward self-deprecation. This traumatic past isolated her until she was rescued by Aru Rikuhachima, the president of Handyman 68. In gratitude, Haruka developed an intense, unwavering loyalty to Aru, viewing her as a savior to whom she owes everything. This devotion manifests as a willingness to do absolutely anything to support Aru's ambitions and remove any perceived obstacles from her path.

Despite her shy and timid outward demeanor, Haruka possesses a capacity for extreme and terrifying action that makes her arguably the most dangerous member of an already erratic group. She has a particular affinity for explosives and is more than prepared to use them to eliminate threats to Aru or her other companions. Her thinking can be very literal and extreme; when she feels her close associates are threatened, she can lose control, firing her shotgun uncontrollably or resorting to extreme measures without regard for consequences. Her social inexperience due to her past has left gaps in her understanding of conventional morality, which can lead to problematic actions, such as stealing an item as a gift and then falling into hysterical apologies when discovered. She has a peculiar fondness for weeds, which she feels are misunderstood and worthless, much like she sees herself, and she secretly cultivates a garden of them in an abandoned room.

Within Handyman 68, Haruka occupies a position like the youngest sibling, deeply respecting the hierarchy and referring to her teammates by their professional titles. Her relationship with Aru is the cornerstone of her life; she is obsessively dedicated to the group's leader and seeks to be useful to her above all else. She is frequently teased by the mischievous Asagi Mutsuki, and while she is a loyal teammate to Onikata Kayoko, her strongest ties are to Aru. Her relationship with Sensei, the advisor of the Federal Investigation Club Schale, is also significant. Sensei is one of the few people who knows about her weed-planting hobby and has consistently offered her comfort and reassurance, helping her cope with her intense feelings of worthlessness and her tendency to wish for her own nonexistence when she makes mistakes.

In combat, Haruka is a formidable frontline fighter known for her extraordinary durability and her proficiency with explosives and a shotgun. Her primary weapon is a shotgun she calls Blow Away, which is modeled on the FABARM SDASS, and she wields it with devastating effect in close quarters, not hesitating to use it as a bludgeon if necessary. Her combat style is aggressive and unpredictable, defined by her skill in planting and detonating explosives to maximize damage to enemy lines. Her abilities include Erratic Shooting, which deals damage to all enemies in a wide fan-shaped area, and defensive skills like Trigger Over and Uwaaaaah!?? that increase her defense, allowing her to withstand tremendous amounts of punishment. Her passive skill, But I'll do my best!, significantly increases her maximum health, reflecting her underlying tenacity. Her physical resilience is remarkable; she has been shown to continue fighting after being thrown from a building or shot at close range. While she is attached to Handyman 68 and follows its objectives, her personal journey is one of gradually finding a sense of belonging and self-worth, moving away from her past as a victim and embracing her role as a terrifyingly effective protector of the only family she has ever known.
