Description
Kazamine is a character from the anime A Playthrough of a Certain Dude's VRMMO Life. He is a male player who belongs to the Blue Color guild, where he initially takes on the role of an attacker using a bastard sword. His true aspiration, however, is to become a samurai, and he later transitions to wielding a great katana to fulfill this goal.
In the real world, Kazamine is described as being small in stature, a trait that has been a source of personal difficulty, as he was rejected twice by romantic interests who cited his height as the reason. Outside of the game, he is a practitioner of kendo. Before his deep involvement in the VRMMO game known as One More, his progress in kendo had reached a plateau. The virtual world serves as a significant avenue for self-improvement, as the sword techniques he develops within the game gradually begin to influence and enhance his real-world kendo abilities.
Kazamine's primary motivation stems from a desire to grow as a swordsman, bridging his virtual and real-life experiences. He is driven to overcome his perceived physical limitations and to master a style of combat that resonates with his samurai ideals. This dedication leads to a notable development in his character. When he enters a state of intense focus, commonly referred to as the zone or a flow state, his combat efficiency becomes terrifyingly precise, earning him the nickname Neck-Collecting Samurai. However, this highly effective in-game style proves to be increasingly incompatible with the rigid forms of traditional kendo. This conflict prompts him to seek a new path, leading him to frequently visit the dojo run by another character's family, Kana, to further refine his unconventional techniques.
In the story, Kazamine fulfills the role of a supporting character and a guildmate within the Blue Color guild, which is led by a player named Zwei. His key relationships are primarily with his fellow guild members, including the protagonist Earth, Nora, Millie, and Rage, with whom he collaborates on hunting quests and other adventures. One of his notable achievements and a turning point for his equipment is acquiring a powerful magic ice great katana from the Dark Elf Valley, which he subsequently uses as his primary weapon. Visually, Kazamine is depicted as an adult with gray eyes and gray hair that reaches chest length.
