Description
Minamida serves as the covert alias for Seina Yamada during the Paradise War events within the Tenchi Muyo! GXP narrative. This pseudonym originates from a syllabic rearrangement of "Seina Yamada," concealing his identity as the famed Galaxy Police captain who dismantled the Da Ruma Pirate Guild and captured countless pirates. Disguised as a Galactic Federation observer, Minamida monitors the proxy conflict on Banjo Island—alternatively called Tabletop Island—where Earth’s champion Shou Kukoma battles alien representatives to decide leadership of a new pirate federation.
He operates alongside four cabbits—Miki, Fuku, Kirche, and D—disguised with white fur and renamed M-cabbit, F-cabbit, K-cabbit, and D-cabbit. These cabbits function as engineers for Shou’s Guardian System, a combat suit synchronized with Banjo Island’s core: a Fourth-Generation Juraian Royal Treeship. During this mission, the cabbits temporarily break their silence to communicate verbally, and Miki reveals her humanoid form to Shou to foster trust.
Minamida’s technical skills become pivotal when resentful pirate factions assault Earth following Shou’s triumph. He employs the ancient mecha Zinv to cloak the invasion fleet from Earth’s sensors and aids Shou in activating the Guardian System to neutralize the attackers. Subsequently, he exposes Banjo Island’s true identity as a Juraian Treeship and facilitates the separation of its habitat from the vessel to safeguard its ecosystem during space operations. These events unfold roughly five years after Tenchi Muyo! GXP, preceding the War on Geminar timeline.
Originally from Earth, Seina Yamada joined the Galaxy Police unintentionally due to extraordinary misfortune—a trait that ironically attracts and ensnares pirates. His later achievements include bonding with a first-generation Juraian Royal Tree, entering a political marriage with eight wives, and rising to third in succession for the Jurai throne. The Minamida alias enables discreet operations during the Paradise War, allowing him to leverage expertise without revealing his presence to adversaries.
