Description
Kenshi Masaki is the younger half-brother of Tenchi Masaki, born to Nobuyuki Masaki and his second wife, Rea Masaki. Rea, an artificial human transported herself from the parallel world of Geminar to Earth, imprinted with a mission to bear a child capable of confronting Geminar's existential threat, Gaia. Kenshi's conception fulfilled this directive, though he remained unaware of his destiny throughout his upbringing.

Raised primarily at the Masaki shrine alongside Tenchi's extended household, Kenshi received rigorous training from family and allies. This included martial arts instruction from Katsuhito (Yosho), Ayeka, and Sasami; survivalist and foraging skills; domestic tasks like cooking and sewing from Nobuyuki; and combat sparring with advanced beings such as Ryoko and Galaxy Police officers. Washu Hakubi supplemented his development with nutritional enhancements, contributing to his superhuman strength, speed, and reflexes. Washu's childhood hypnosis prevented Kenshi from revealing the family's extraterrestrial connections, also increasing his suggestibility under stress. Kenshi perceived this intense preparation as playful challenges, never learning its true purpose.

On the eve of his transport to Geminar, Kenshi attended a farewell party disguised as a celebration for Ryo-Ohki's pregnancy. Tokimi, one of the universe-creating Chousin goddesses, collaborated with Washu to teleport him while he slept, stranding him on Geminar. He endured months of isolation and manipulation by factions like Babalun Mest and his son Dagmyer. Desperate to return home, Kenshi briefly allied with antagonists in a failed assassination attempt against Empress Lashara Earth XXVIII, but refused to kill her when ordered. This act of defiance marked his redemption and alignment with Lashara's faction.

In Geminar, Kenshi enrolled at Holy Land Academy under Lashara's protection, disguised as her attendant. His exceptional abilities—including swordsmanship surpassing seasoned warriors like Mexiah, mastery of giant biomechanical "Sacred Mechanoids" (Seikijin), and proficiency in fields like medicine and engineering—made him a celebrity. His white Seikijin linked him to a prophecy identifying him as the "Seikishi of Light," warning of a berserker state where his mecha would turn black and decay, symbolizing his potential to save or destroy Geminar. He obtained the Tenchi-ken (Heaven and Earth Sword), compressing a sacred obelisk from Yukine Mare's village into a blade of immense weight and energy. This sword enabled him to generate a Light Hawk Wing to defeat Gaia, though unlike Tenchi's innate power, Kenshi's ability relied on external energy sources.

Personality-wise, Kenshi evolved from initial arrogance and frustration into a compassionate, duty-driven figure. His hypnotic conditioning left him vulnerable to coercion under duress, triggering autopilot compliance when threatened (e.g., obeying commands to protect his crystal pendant). He exhibited mannerisms reminiscent of Ryo-Ohki, such as exaggerated startle responses, and collected crystalline artifacts resembling her ship form for comfort. Though surrounded by admirers like Lashara, Chiaia Flan, and Mexiah, he remained largely indifferent to romantic advances, partly due to Geminar's oppressive traditions treating Sacred Mechamasters as breeding stock. Subtle mutual affection developed with Yukine Mare, whom he respected for her sincerity.

Kenshi's relationships reflect familial loyalty and trauma. He regarded Tenchi's household as sisters, maintaining a particularly close bond with Ryo-Ohki from childhood. His experiences in Geminar—including psychological manipulation and enforced isolation—left enduring emotional scars, compounded by his unresolved desire to return home. After defeating Gaia, he assumed leadership of Lashara's vessel, the Swan, declaring it an independent nation.
