OVA
Description
Sho Kukoma, a human teenager from a financially strained family, is thrust into interstellar conflict when his parents unknowingly relocate him to Banjo Island under false pretenses. Believing they secured his safety through an emigration program, his parents remain on Earth while Sho becomes Earth's proxy in a high-stakes galactic competition. This "proxy war" decides leadership of a new nation formed from fragmented space pirate guilds. Sho enters unprepared and is widely expected to fail.

His appearance shifts across media: novel illustrations show him clean-cut with straight hair and soft features, often in formal shirts or casual tees. OVA 5 redesigns him with a partial crew cut and spiky hair after lore-confirmed burns sustained his first night on Banjo Island necessitate a shorter style. He wears rugged beach attire like red tank tops and baggy trousers, reflecting adaptation to the harsh environment.

Sho possesses one innate skill: unbeatable prowess at Janken (Rock-Paper-Scissors), stemming from intuitive prediction of opponents' immediate actions. In combat, this translates to tactical superiority when piloting his outdated Guardian System mecha. He instinctively adjusts its settings mid-battle to counter attacks, with accuracy improving through repeated engagements against the same foes. He also weaponizes replicated fingernails-on-chalkboard sounds, exploiting space-faring species' vulnerability to hull-fracture noises.

His primary rivals are four female pirate guild representatives—Dird Shank, Alea Balta, Palty Jurai, and Apuesta Daluma. Despite initial hostility, Sho forms a familial bond with them and their flirtatious teacher, Miron Pham, who provides guidance absent from his biological family. Early on, he receives two baby chicks, Pi and Piyo, carried in an incubator until maturity; OVA continuity later enhances them into unconventional combat assets.

Against all odds, Sho wins the proxy war. Victory grants him Banjo Island—revealed as a core-powered starship—and establishes Earth as capital of the new pirate federation. He becomes the interstellar nation's governmental representative, captaining Banjo Island while safeguarding Earth's interests. Miron joins him as Earth's official delegate. After stabilizing pirate factions and Earth's security, Sho enrolls in Galaxy Police Academy for formal training, receiving an advanced Guardian System. His journey concludes with departure for the academy, transitioning from reluctant participant to dedicated protector.
