TV-Series
Description
Kouta Kijima, often referred to by his nickname Manager, is a first-year student at Amori High School and one of the closest friends of the protagonist, Tousuke Rokudou. Alongside Rokudou and their other friend Masaru Hinomoto, Kouta is a constant target of bullying in a school environment overrun by delinquents, a shared experience that bonds the trio tightly before the series truly begins. His nickname is a nod to his formal attire and calm, businesslike way of carrying himself.

In terms of personality, Kouta is initially the most cautious and skeptical member of the group. He deeply desires a quiet and uneventful school life and frequently voices his worries about the increasingly dangerous situations they encounter. Despite his hesitance and cynical outlook, he is not cowardly. He proves himself to be steadfastly loyal to his friends, always standing alongside Rokudou when trouble arises rather than abandoning him for safety. His motivation is rooted in this desire for simple peace, and he supports Rokudou because he sees him as the best hope for achieving that peace, even as things grow more chaotic around them.

Kouta serves as a key supporting character, acting as a close confidante and a lookout for Rokudou. His role is often that of the grounded everyman, reacting with nervousness, awe, or disbelief to the bizarre events that unfold, which provides a relatable contrast to Rokudou's determined idealism and the delinquent girls' wild antics. His primary relationship is with Rokudou, whom he treats with genuine friendship and trust, but he is also a core pillar of their small friend group alongside Hinomoto.

Throughout the story, Kouta experiences notable development, growing from a helpless victim into a more confident and capable figure within Amori High's shifting hierarchy. He does not gain any superhuman abilities or fighting prowess. Instead, his abilities lie in his undeniable loyalty, his practical and observant nature, and his unwavering role as a reliable ally in Rokudou’s inner circle. His strength is his steadfast friendship and his courage to remain in the fight even when logic tells him to flee.
