Description
Dōji Matsugamiya is a character from the anime and manga series Rokudō no Onna-tachi, serving as the leader of the Onishima Alliance. His name, Dōji, translates to child, boy, or kid in Japanese. In terms of appearance, he is recognized by his cyan-colored hair which he typically ties back in a small ponytail, and his black eyes. His standard attire consists of a white dress shirt paired with a blue tie, black pants, and black shoes.

Central to understanding Dōji is his background and personality, which share a surprising parallel with the protagonist, Tōsuke Rokudō. Like Rokudō, Dōji was once a timid individual who lived in constant fear of other people. In his past, he was so desperate for protection that he resorted to bribing stronger individuals to shield him from harm. This deep-seated insecurity drove him to seek a different life. His core motivation became a desire to be surrounded by strong people, which ultimately led him to join the Onishima Alliance. While he is generally polite in his demeanor, he is also capable of becoming extremely intimidating, a duality that reflects his hard-won strength.

Dōji’s role in the story is defined by his position as the leader of the Onishima Alliance and his complex relationship with Ranna Himawari. After Ranna single-handedly and easily defeated the entire Alliance, Dōji was not angered but instead fell in love with her immense strength. This admiration became a powerful goal for him; he desired to have her join the Alliance and, to that end, took over as its leader and worked to gather other powerful individuals to refortify its ranks. His journey shows significant personal development. Despite his past as a coward, he has transformed into a fighter strong enough to take on Tōsuke Rokudō and his friends by himself.

A key turning point in his development occurs after his failure to recruit Ranna. He comes to a profound realization that he has personally become strong and, more importantly, that his allies within the Alliance genuinely admire him for his own strength and acknowledge his worth without the need for the bribes he once relied on to validate himself. While specific details of his combat abilities are not extensively cataloged, his capability to single-handedly fight against Rokudō and his allies demonstrates that he has become a formidable fighter in his own right.
