Description
Leticia MacCredy is a supporting character in the anime Sorcerous Stabber Orphen Doom of Dragon's Sanctuary. She is a black magic sorceress and a senior member of the Tower of Fangs, having been one of seven students selected for the elite Childman Class. Orphaned at a young age alongside Krylancelo and Azalie, she grew up with them in the town of Raindust before all three were taken into the Tower. Leticia is five years older than Orphen and served as an adoptive older sister to both him and Azalie during their childhood and training.
In terms of personality, Leticia is often civil but can be snappy and stern, especially when frustrated. She can be a caring teacher and caretaker, yet when angered she tends to lose control and unleash violent sorcery. Beneath this temperamental exterior lies a profound loneliness. After Orphen and Azalie disappeared from the Tower five years before the events of the story, Leticia became deeply melancholy. Her greatest dream was always to own a house where her found family could live together, and she eventually acquired a mansion by trading her position as classroom lead to her classmate Forte. She kept rooms reserved for Orphen and Azalie in the hope of their return.
Leticia's primary motivation is her desire to protect and reunite her surrogate family. When Orphen returns to the Tower under the guise of a traitor, Leticia is initially tasked with eliminating him. Instead, she takes him into her custody, falsifies official records to clear his name, and risks her standing among the Elders to shield him. She is also fiercely protective of Orphen's companions, such as Cleao, and intervenes when they come under attack.
Her key relationships include Orphen, whom she considers a foster brother and once imagined settling down with; Azalie, her distant cousin and classmate; Forte, a fellow Childman student with whom she has a long history; and Childman, her master. She also cares deeply for her black cat Nora, whom she refuses to give back to Orphen after caring for it during his absence.
Over the course of the story, Leticia evolves from a lonely, reclusive sorcerer into an active ally who puts herself in harm's way. She loses two fingers in an ambush while protecting Cleao, and though the fingers are reattached, nerve damage leaves them partially immobile. This sacrifice demonstrates her commitment to those she loves.
Leticia is a talented sorcerer with immense magical power. Within the Childman Class, only Azalie and Korugon could match the magnitude of her sorcery. She also received training in survivalist and defensive combat tactics, including the ability to detect threats and assess enemy numbers and positions. However, she lacks the stomach for direct battle and often avoids fighting when possible. She is known by the epithet Keening, associated with the scream of death.
