Description
Jilk Fia Marmoria is a supporting character in the story, where he is a noble of the Kingdom of Holfort and a member of the prince's entourage, specifically serving as the foster brother of Crown Prince Julius Rapha Holfort. As the son of a count who is renowned as the Sword Saint, Jilk is an heir to a respected martial lineage. He is a young man with distinctive green hair and green eyes, typically seen wearing the standard academy uniform.
On the surface, Jilk presents himself as a calm, gentle, and intelligent individual. He is popular among the female students due to his controlled demeanor and perceived charm. However, this polite exterior hides a deeply calculating and ruthless personality. Beneath his meek facade, he is desperately driven to maintain his standing and influence alongside Prince Julius. To protect the prince's interests or secure a victory, Jilk is willing to employ extreme and underhanded methods without hesitation. This ruthlessness is demonstrated clearly during a formal duel against the protagonist, Leon Fou Bartfort, where Jilk conspires to sabotage Leon's armor by having a bomb planted inside it, and also uses illegal weapons in the fight.
As one of the original five capture targets from the otome game that forms the world's foundation, Jilk is initially positioned as a potential romantic interest for the main heroine. His primary motivation is his unwavering, almost fanatical, loyalty to Prince Julius. This loyalty often leads him to make shortsighted decisions and to view any threat to the prince, such as the rising commoner Leon, as an enemy to be eliminated. His enmity with Leon culminates in the duel during the academy's conclusion ceremony. After suffering a humiliating defeat at the hands of Leon, Jilk and the other members of the prince's entourage are disowned by their families, stripping them of their status and financial support.
Following his disinheritance, Jilk's decision-making abilities noticeably deteriorate. He and his companions, driven by a need for money and a desire for revenge against Leon, become increasingly short-sighted. They pool their meager resources to salvage parts from their damaged knight-armors to build a single composite unit for a rematch, a plan that ultimately fails and worsens their situation. Later, during the academy festival, he participates in an airbike race but is sabotaged, forcing Leon to take his place. In a later storyline, his loyalty to Julius still leads him to support a poorly conceived escape plan from the palace, which is easily thwarted, further illustrating his loss of strategic acumen.
Jilk is a skilled swordsman, having been trained by his father, the Sword Saint. Despite this, his defining traits are his cunning and his willingness to use sabotage and illegal tactics, which overshadow his legitimate abilities in combat. His relationships are the key drivers of his actions: a desperate, obsessive loyalty to Julius; a combative rivalry with Leon that turns into bitter resentment; and a dynamic with Marie Fou Lafan, whom he and the other former princes initially see as a means to regain status, leading to a cycle of poor decisions driven by a need for her approval.
