Description
NaNaNa Najahkoop is a Quincy and a member of the Wandenreich’s Sternritter, an elite group of warriors serving Yhwach. He holds the designation U, which corresponds to his Schrift ability known as The Underbelly. He is a tall, thin male with long dark hair styled into five distinct spikes, goggles that partially cover his face, and unusually colored teeth that alternate between black and white. He first appears during the Thousand-Year Blood War arc and participates in the Quincy invasion of the Soul Society.
In terms of personality, NaNaNa is often sarcastic and tends to keep to himself, though he is unwavering in his loyalty to Yhwach and the Sternritter cause. He does not display the same level of overt brutality as some of his comrades, but he is still a capable and dangerous fighter. His primary motivation is to serve Yhwach and help secure victory for the Quincies. He does not appear to have a grand personal vendetta; rather, he follows orders and fights when necessary.
His role in the story is that of a supporting antagonist. He engages in battle against the Soul Reapers during the initial invasion, notably clashing with Captain Rojuro Otoribashi of Squad 3. Later, during the second invasion of the Soul Society, he uses his ability to incapacitate Sosuke Aizen, who had been imprisoned in the underground Muken. However, in the novel Bleach: Can’t Fear Your Own World, it is revealed that NaNaNa survived the betrayal. He, along with Candice Catnipp and Meninas McAllon, was captured by the Twelfth Division and turned into a subject of Captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi’s experiments, effectively being reanimated as a zombie-like servant under Mayuri’s control.
