Description
Rabbi, also known as the Raccoon Dog Man, is a supporting character in the anime Tōsōchū: The Great Mission who takes part in the Run for Money games under two identities. For much of the early story she appears only as the Raccoon Dog Man, a mysterious contestant who wears a tanuki costume and behaves like an easygoing, playful mascot. In episode 47 the disguise is exposed, revealing that the Raccoon Dog Man is actually a sixteen-year-old girl named Rabbi.

In terms of background, Rabbi is the young game master who once supervised the Run for Money of the A3 colony and was known as the rebellious game master. She was deeply fond of the game and hoped to create entertainment that would fascinate many people. After Rouzuki Makoto took over her colony, Rabbi was forced to flee with the help of an ally named Palt and went into hiding in the A7 colony, where she entered its Run for Money games while wearing the Raccoon Dog Man costume. Her secret purpose was to find capable runners who could help her win back her position.

The two sides of her identity reflect different surfaces. As the Raccoon Dog Man she is playful, unpredictable, and hard to read, sometimes helping other runners out of tough situations and sometimes acting as a decoy or getting caught at unexpected moments. Once revealed as Rabbi, she is sharper and more prickly in manner, yet she remains loyal to the game she loves. Her driving motivation is to reclaim the A3 colony's Run for Money after being driven out, and later to take part seriously as a runner in her own right.

Within the story she grows from an anonymous mascot-like contestant into a major recurring runner. Her turning point comes with the revelation of her identity and the resolution that follows, in which she decides to take her game back. She eventually regains her role as the A3 colony's game master, yet continues to join the games at the A7 colony, including the high-level tournament known as the Great Champion Tour and later stages such as a western-themed adventure where she appears as a frontier bodyguard. In the later part of the series her strength is highlighted through an awakening of her special power.

Her key relationships include the runner Tomura Sōya, whose encouragement during one mission helps her achieve her first successful escape when she climbs to the top of the Statue of Liberty despite interference from the competitor Yuki-no-jō. She shares a bond of gratitude with Palt for helping her flee her colony, and her main antagonist is Rouzuki Makoto, who seized her position. The tanuki persona she created also leaves a lasting mark, as a second Raccoon Dog Man figure later appears in the games.

In terms of ability, Rabbi combines solid athleticism and endurance with the knowledge of a former game master, allowing her to read missions and dangers more effectively than most contestants. Her record includes finishing among the top runners in several games and placing first in a revival mission. Her special combat ability, referred to in the series as a Walkure, is named Aurora and is associated with light, and a late arc focuses on Rabbi awakening this power and using it in decisive confrontations.
