TV-Series
Description
Kagechiyo is a ninja cat and a loyal companion to Kemumaki, the main antagonist from the Koga-ryu ninja school. This black-and-white feline lives with his master in an apartment, where he is often tasked with carrying out various schemes and reporting information back to Kemumaki. Despite his dedication, Kagechiyo is a classic troublemaker who frequently finds his plans backfiring due to bad luck or the interventions of the protagonist ninja, Hattori.

Kagechiyo's personality is complex, balancing fierce loyalty with moments of frustration. He typically respects and follows his master, but Kemumaki often treats him harshly, assigning chores and speaking to him bitterly. This mistreatment occasionally leads Kagechiyo to resent his situation and even dream of living a carefree life as an ordinary cat. Despite these conflicts, their mutual loyalty remains evident during serious conflicts. He is known for his talkative nature and superstitious belief that his scarf is a lucky charm, and he expresses feline contentment through singing. His distinctive speech often ends with the sound "nyarin".

As a ninja cat, Kagechiyo possesses human-level intelligence and the ability to speak human language. His most notable ninja ability is a unique technique that generates static electricity within his body, which he can discharge as an attack. This ability is known as the "Electric Captor" or "Elecat" technique, though using it drains his energy significantly. Beyond combat, he performs standard ninja roles of espionage and communication, often hiding in the Mitsuba household to overhear plans and then relaying that information to Kemumaki.

In the story, Kagechiyo serves as the secondary antagonist and aide to Kemumaki, helping to create obstacles for the protagonist Kenichi and his ninja friends. His key relationships are defined by rivalry and reluctant cooperation. He shares a pronounced rivalry with Shishimaru, the ninja dog of the Iga-ryu, and they frequently engage in physical and strategic competitions. Despite their fights, they acknowledge each other's skills and can put aside their differences to form temporary alliances against common threats. Towards human characters like Kenichi and Yumeko, Kagechiyo behaves in an opportunistic and bothersome manner, though Kenichi's parents treat him kindly, unaware of his ninja connections. While he primarily serves the Koga clan's interests, his actions occasionally show flexibility and pragmatism when the situation requires it.
