Description
Elnar, also known as Elner of Wisdom, is a pivotal entity in the Galaxy Fraulein Yuna narrative. As a fairy-like, robotic being and a central component of the Matrix of Light, Elnar is the one who designates the ordinary schoolgirl Yuna Kagurazaka as the Savior of Light, charging her with the defense of the universe against the forces of darkness.
Elnar acts as a constant guide and advisor to Yuna, possessing a wealth of knowledge about the ancient battle between light and dark. Her role is not merely instructional but also supervisory, as she frequently reminds Yuna to take her duties seriously and get her act together as the chosen heroine. Despite this sometimes stern advisory role, Elnar is a steadfast and loyal ally, accompanying Yuna on her intergalactic quests and providing crucial support.
One of Elnar's primary functions is the creation and management of Yuna's armored battlesuit, the Light Suit, as Yuna cannot transform on her own. Beyond this, she possesses powerful sensory equipment for information gathering and is shown to have telepathic powers, which she uses to detect evil energy and guide the team. Her capabilities extend to the strategic level, as she is also a core component required to form the giant robot El-Line. When Elnar combines with the other Matrix of Light androids—Erina of the Sky, Jina of the Land, and Marina of the Sea—they fuse into this 21-meter-tall mecha, an ancient weapon from a past war, which Yuna then pilots to combat major threats.
