Description
Kazuyoshi Miura, a young Japanese footballer from Shizuoka, displayed exceptional determination early on. He left high school after less than one year, traveling alone to Brazil at age 15 with roughly $700 to chase his football dreams, despite Japan's underdeveloped football infrastructure then.

His initial time in Brazil proved harsh. He battled homesickness, endured racist taunts, and lived in poor conditions within a flea-ridden dormitory at São Paulo club CA Juventus' junior academy. Contemplating a return to Japan, he instead persisted by joining smaller club XV de Jau. There, he briefly secured a professional contract with Santos, only to be released after two appearances. His perseverance held firm. Returning to XV de Jau, he eventually scored the winning header in a significant state championship match against Corinthians, earning the Brazilian media nickname "O Karate Kid do Futebol".

The portrayal highlights his non-stop work ethic and relentless training regimen, constantly refining technique to overcome his initial lack of natural talent. His Brazilian exposure immersed him in a different football culture, shaping his identity as a player before his eventual return to Japan. The depiction specifically covers his adolescence and early career development leading up to and including his formative experiences in Brazil.
