TV-Series
Description
Pipiru is a small bird and one of the three animal companions who come from the land of dreams, Fenarinarsa, to Earth alongside Princess Momo in the anime Fairy Princess Minky Momo. Her name is also written as Pipil in some English-language materials, and in international versions she is known as Yum-Yum or Rupipi. She is the only female among the trio, which also includes Sindbook, a dog, and Mocha, a monkey.

As one of Momo's helper pets, Pipiru's role in the story is to support Momo in her mission of helping people on Earth recover their dreams and hopes. She is the smallest of the group, yet she is described as having a large heart and being as helpful as she can possibly be. Her personality is marked by a maidenly and romantic nature; she dreams of love and frequently behaves in a girlish, sentimental way, which distinguishes her from her two male companions. This romantic streak is a defining trait that shapes much of her behavior and gives her a gentle, dreamy quality in her interactions with the world around her.

Her motivation is twofold. She is devoted to Momo and committed to the shared task of restoring dreams and hope to the people they encounter, and she also harbors her own personal dream of finding love. Throughout the series she accompanies Momo on her adventures, functioning as a loyal companion and lending assistance wherever she is needed. Her key relationships are with Momo, whom she follows with affection and dedication, and with Sindbook and Mocha, with whom she forms a close-knit animal trio that provides both practical help and lighthearted companionship.

Documented development for Pipiru is limited. Rather than undergoing a major personal transformation, she serves as a steady and dependable presence throughout Momo's journey. Her notable abilities are tied to her nature as a small bird and to her position as one of Momo's helper pets, with her enthusiasm and willingness to help making her a valuable member of the group despite her petite size.
