OVA
Description
Ritsuko Akizuki joined 765 Production as a high school graduate intern aspiring to be an idol manager. Budget constraints and an idol shortage led her to debut as an idol while still handling office duties, forcing her to balance both roles. Her family operates a successful Tokyo shop chain, fostering her business-oriented mindset and dream of becoming a corporate manager.

She exhibits a pragmatic, disciplined personality, prioritizing efficiency and knowledge. Ritsuko frequently corrects or scolds others—including the Producer—over perceived inefficiencies, targeting Miki Hoshii's laziness or the Futami twins' pranks. Despite this sternness, she enjoys gaming, shokugan collecting, shoujo manga, and zoo visits, often bonding with the Futami twins over shared hobbies.

Ritsuko struggles with self-doubt about her idol image, feeling she lacks conventional qualities. She consistently wears glasses and keeps her hair in braids, refusing to remove either due to insecurity about her appearance. She also faces difficulties with sports, swimming, and cooking without strict recipes.

In THE iDOLM@STER 2 and the 2011 anime, she transitions to producing the unit Ryuuguu Komachi while remaining an active idol. During the Shiny Festa OVA, she assists in organizing 765 Production's participation in a tropical island music festival. Her self-deprecating remark—"Ahhh, what am I doing here... w-well, I can’t do anything about it now... Alright! When I’m on stage, you’re my producer, so support me well"—highlights her performance reluctance and determination.

She maintains a close relationship with her cousin Ryo Akizuki, encouraging his idol debut in Dearly Stars, and with units like Ryuuguu Komachi. A recurring gag across manga depicts peers failing to recognize her with her hair down, frustrating her as they express preference for that look.

Her skills include mixed martial arts, demonstrated when defending Yukiho Hagiwara from kidnappers, and leadership, showcased during a temporary police lieutenant role in drama CDs. Statistically, her initial idol attributes in games emphasize vocals (25) over dance (23) and visual (21).
