Description
Danan LeBeau is a former member of the hero's party who wields the Divine Blessing of the Martial Artist. He originally came from a village that was destroyed by the Demon Lord's Army, and he once served as the master of a martial arts dojo where all of his students were killed fighting the same enemy. This profound loss became a driving force in his life, fueling a strong desire for revenge and motivating him to join the hero's party as the quickest path to defeating the Demon Lord.

In terms of personality, Danan is defined by his straightforwardness and honesty, a trait directly imposed by his Blessing, which makes it impossible for him to tell a lie and compels him to always say what is on his mind. This bluntness can sometimes make him appear insensitive or careless regarding the feelings of others. For instance, he was often harsh on Red when Red's physical combat skills began to wane, a criticism that inadvertently contributed to Red's self-doubt. Despite this, Danan deeply values friendship and loyalty. He genuinely believed that Red was an essential member of the party for his strategic mind and tactical abilities. His strong sense of loyalty also led him to develop intense animosity towards Ares Srowa after Red's banishment, as he viewed Ares's leadership as ineffective and his actions as a betrayal. Danan has difficulty understanding the struggles of people whose Blessings do not align with their personal desires, as his own Blessing is a perfect match for his personality. Because of this, he struggles to fully comprehend the pain of someone like Ruti, whose Hero Blessing conflicts with her wish for a normal life.

Danan's role in the story is that of a powerful ally whose actions help drive the plot forward after the initial banishment. Believing the hero's party was falling apart without Red's guidance, Danan set out on his own to find him, tracking Red all the way to the frontier town of Zoltan. During this journey, he was ambushed by the Asura Demon Shisandan, who severed his right arm and stole his identity to impersonate him. Despite losing his hand, Danan's combat capabilities remained formidable. He later confronted the real Shisandan in the ruins of an ancient elven site. Though he fought bravely and managed to corner his enemy, he was severely wounded due to a betrayal from Ares Srowa. He was rescued by his friends Theodora Dephilo and Albert, and after recovering, he returned to help save Red and Rit from danger.

Key relationships significantly influence Danan's actions and development. His relationship with Red, or Gideon, is built on a strong sense of respect for Red's strategic contributions and personal integrity. Although Danan was harsh on him, he regretted this behavior after Theodora pointed out that he had gone too far, which made him feel guilty. His relationship with Ares Srowa is defined by hatred and disdain due to Ares's betrayal and weak leadership, and he expressed no sympathy following Ares's death. He shares a bond of mutual trust and respect with his comrades Theodora and Albert, who helped rescue and heal him after his grave injuries. Danan also aligns his loyalty with Ruti, the Hero, stating he would leave the party if she chose to quit.

Throughout the story, Danan undergoes development primarily through recognizing his own mistakes. He comes to regret the harsh criticism he leveled at Red, realizing his words were detrimental. His character is also defined by his remarkable ability to grow stronger from facing challenges and near-death experiences. His fighting ability improves every time he encounters danger, allowing him to push through even serious injuries, such as the loss of his arm. As Red once observed, Danan is someone more loved by their Blessing than anyone else. After the hero's party was disbanded following Ruti's decision to relinquish her role, Danan stayed in Zoltan for a time to rest and recover his strength before eventually setting out for his hometown.
