Description
Professor Mizuki is the father of Hotaru Mizuki and the director of the Robot Center research facility located near Mount Fuji, as well as a professor in the university division of Aoba Academy. He is recognized as an authority in robotics, and it is this expertise that places him at the center of Earth's defense when the alien Derinja force begins its invasion. After the students Daisaku Enjoji, Tetsuya Jin, and Hotaru see their award-winning competition robots easily defeated by the invaders, Professor Mizuki takes the three machines and extensively rebuilds them, combining them into the super robot Albegas. The three components, the Alpha, Beta, and Gamma robots, can stack in six different formations, and the project is built around a theoretical framework that is uniquely his own, which is also the reason no other robot comparable to Albegas can be produced.
In personality, Professor Mizuki is intelligent, calm, and warm-hearted. He is modest about his achievements and genuinely concerned with the well-being of the young pilots who risk their lives in battle. He also has an absent-minded and comical side; he admits to being a hasty person and is shown wearing mismatched socks, which adds lightness to his otherwise serious scientific demeanor. His motivation is twofold. On a personal level, he had long been developing a design concept for a powerful, multi-form robot but had been unable to resolve certain technical problems, and the students' three-robot arrangement gives him the solution he was seeking.
